MK railroad

As far as I have seen there is no confirmed reopening date as of yet. Progress is still happening but I have not seen any announcements. I generally assume that worst case scenario they're aiming to have things like this done by the October 1 50th Anniversary kick-off, but you never know. I'm sure once they make an announcement it will show up in these boards :) We're looking forward to its return as well.

Oct. 1st is probably a best case scenario. A bypass and tunnel still need to be built before the train can run - my guess is sometime in 2022.

As noted they need to build the above ground tunnel that goes through Tron for the train . I don't expect to see it running until the entrance walkway to Tron is completed as this appears to go over the tunnel.

So, would they really need to complete Tron before allowing the train to run? Would it be possible for them to simply finish the tunnel, allowing the train to pass through the site even while construction is ongoing?

From a risk management standpoint - you build the tunnel and the train can go through. You are working with tons of concrete above the tunnel. I don't think that will happen. I don't think the inside of Tron would need to be finished, but I suspect the outside will be finished before the train runs.

My understanding is that the area where the tracks and tunnel will be is part of the construction access so they can’t build the tunnel until they no longer need that access for Tron construction.
