MK plaza garden dessert party

Confirming, booked last week was charged full amount and told of the 5 day cancellation policy.

Ahh, yes, I just checked my confirmation e-mail. Very clearly states "There is a 5 day cancellation policy. Full price will be charged/forfeited if canceling within 5 Days or no show of the reservation."

Ok I was reading on another site and it stated that it was a 24 hours. I didn't think that was right.

I've always thought these pre-paid things were 24 hours, but shows what I know (and shows how closely I read the fine print!). :-)

I need opinion on this one. I am really having a hard time deciding if my family should do this one. I know my family will not eat the cost for the desserts (they will eat some, but my one daughter is not a big sweet person) but the appeal is the viewing spot. I really don't want to have to spend a long time staking out a spot for the show, so do you think the party is worth the money in order not to stake out a spot. It will cost my family 271.00 for the party. Thanks for the input.

No way! JMO, of course! :)
We always can find a decent viewing spot in front of castle 20-30 min before. Personally, I don't like the viewing from the dessert party area, and not worth the $$$$'s for either area to us.

Just saw Wishes for the last time first part of May - front and center of castle.

What happens if it rains, but they still do the show (which they usually do). Do you get refunds for outdoor party viewing? Or, are you so out of luck?

You get wet like everyone else. :-)

Officially, this is a cut/paste from the Guest Policies section of my reservation e-mail a few weeks ago.

  • Fireworks are subject to change and not guaranteed. Guest should reconfirm Fireworks schedule at least 2 weeks prior to arrival and again upon arrival at Park
  • Fireworks and entertainment are subject to change and not guaranteed.
  • Reservation must be cancelled at least five days prior to avoid FULL per person cancellation and/or no show fee. Plan to arrive 1 hour prior to Fireworks times to check-in and allow up to 1.5 hours to travel to your destination when using Disney Transportation. Fireworks times are subject to change without notice and need to be confirmed on the day of the event in the Times Guide upon arrival in the Park. Valid Theme Park Admission is required. This event will operate rain or shine, even if the Fireworks are cancelled. Menu items, pricing, and hours are subject to change without notice and gratuity is not included or required. This experience does not accept Disney Dining Plan. A special event ticket will be required on nights during any Hard Ticket Event Nights.

We've booked the "Plaza Garden Viewing" option this time to hopefully see the projections on the castle better. In order to get the best view possible, can anyone who has used this area with the new show comment on the view inside of the area. Should we get in there early and stand at the front of the section for a better view of the projections or can we stand near the back for a better angle to see the lower portion of the castle projections with fewer heads in the way? Obviously, this isn't only about the fireworks anymore so I wouldn't expect anyone to be sitting down with the new show.

And just to clarify, what is the procedure for entering the area? Do you have to wait for someone to escort you over from the dessert party or can you leave and go over earlier on your own?

There are two options: The Tomorrowland Terrace VIP experience and the garden experience. Given the importance of the projections on the castle, I would definitely recommend the garden experience (I did both last week and the garden is definitely optimal). They changed the desserts to follow the new theme and they are not great and I find the beverage choices awful (unless you are big coffee drinker or like really, really oversweetened lemonade). The ice cream and the chocolate covered stawberries are really the only things enjoyed. I wish they brought the old buffet back that had mini cannollis and rice krispy treats!

They escort you.
You don't need to worry about when you reach the actual viewing area.

Thanks. We broke the rules so to speak with the Star Wars Dessert Party at Hollywood Studios by leaving and entering the designated area on our own early. We ended up getting the ideal front row centre seating. We didn't realize that we didn't follow protocol until the people behind us asked us how we got there so early since they were waiting in line first back in the dessert party area. I was just wondering if there was a similar advantage with Garden Viewing.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I went ahead and booked this one for my family. We have 3 children, so I am sure it will be worth it for the easy of not staking out a spot and keeping them entertained. Hoping we love this new experience.

You may want to check out the review I did last week, link below. It's long but answers most of your questions along with pics. Happy to answer any questions!

Review: Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing

Does anyone know how far out they are booking this these days?

I see dates highlighted for Nov, but no availability. Could it really all be booked up already?

There is nothing available for October or November yet, even though the calendar shows availability. Just keep checking. Maybe June 1 October will open up.
