Hi

I was reading a thread on here about if you use an outside photographer you can exchange the disney photography for an MK Photo shoot.

Could someone tell me can the MK Photo shoots only be done at certain times?

Thanks
Jen

Hi Jen, I am doing this. I chose to have Randy Chapman for my photography but when I told Disney they said that the Disney photographer would not be able to come as they would get in each others way. Instead I was offered an alternative package (Magic Kingdom Honeymoon shoot).Normally costs $295. A Disney Photographic Services photographer will take you on a tour of Disney’s Magic Kingdom. The session is up to one hour and can be scheduled based on availability everyday between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. You will meet the photographer at City Hall located at the front of the park.
Package Includes
• Guided tour of the Disney Theme Park
• Twenty (20) 4x6 prints selected by your Disney photographer (all additional prints available on our website)
• Beautiful white leather bound album
• Casual attire and comfortable walking shoes are recommended
• Session does not include admission to theme parks

Hope this helps!

Thank you for that information. I was hoping they would do it after 6pm after our cake cutting reception so we would be in our wedding outfits but nevermind.

The package offerred in exchange for a Disney photographer at your wedding is not the same as the Magic Kingdom photo shoot.

The Magic Kingdom Honeymoon shoot is only available after the parks are open (which is why you need admission) and you are not allowed to wear your wedding attire. You must be in casual clothing.

The Magic Kingdom photo shoot for bride/groom takes place at 6am (sometimes there is also a 5am slot) at a cost of $800. You are picked up at your resort by the photographer in your wedding attire with flowers/etc. and pictures are taken in front of the castle, at the caroussel and maybe one or two other spots. The park is not open yet (no admission needed) and therefore you will not have any "extras" in the background of your pictures. You cannot substitute any part of your intimate package for the MK photo shoot and it is for bride and groom only. You will be finished and out of the park before the park opens to the public.

We had our engagement shoot done at the MK (it's the same as the Honeymoon one, just before you get married - lol) and we had the 9 am time slot. Our photographer told us that the 9 am time slot is often the best for keeping the crowds out of your photos. :crowded:

In some cases, we were able to get some photos with no extras in them at all and we were able to go into Pirates of the Caribbean and have pictres taken on the barrels and trunks in the front waiting area - that would be impossible of the crowds were already lined up. He told us that the difference is noticable, even between the 9am and 10am time slots - and we had Mike Strickland, who is a Disney photo veteran, so he would know. :scratchin

Hope this helps-

Jennifer I'm glad you said that! We thought we'd go with an afternoon shoot but I didn't give a thought to the crowds. Thanks!
