Hi everyone! We decided to do our MK photo shoot the morning of the wedding b/c we really don't want to get ready twice. The wedding was scheduled at 2 pm. Should we move it to 10 am so that there isn't such a big time gap waiting around?

Here's a big question. My dress is really long and is always touching the ground if I don't hold it up. Is it going to be absolutely filthy during the ceremony b/c of the MK shoot? Will it show up on camera?

For those of you that did the pics on the beach did it really mess the dress up too?

Here is what I can tell you. Yes your dress will get pretty dirty. Just want you to be aware of that. Try and keep it up off the ground as much as possible. Maybe wet wipes will help and baby power. The times are usually 5 or 6 am depending on the day and how many shoots they have. To do the 5 am shoot which is what I am doing I have to be up and getting ready at 3am. I am sure that the six am would be at 4am getting ready. I am having a 9am ceremony so I have to be up and ready for 5am b/c we are doing pictures before hand. I decided just to do the photo shoot another day. It is worth it to me to get ready one more time just so I don't have to be up that early and just crazed.

I did the MK photo shoot a couple days after our wedding. DH was very helpful in keeping my dress off the ground during the shoot - the dress didn't end up any dirtier than it did from the wedding. The dirt doesn't show in any of the pictures.

Did you keep your train on the entire time? (that is, if it is detachable, lol)

My train was down for the entire MK photo shoot. The day of wedding it was bustled right after the ceremony. The bustle broke during the reception, so I ended up carrying my train for most of the day, or just letting it trail behind me ;)

Thanks golden! I think I just get a little too paranoid about all this stuff. I was worried that my dress would look like a train wreck by the time the wedding rolled around.

So, do you think I should move the ceremony time up to 10am or leave it at 2pm?

I will tell you that my dress was filthy by the time I was done. I don't think it would show up in any photos though. However, I tried to be real careful about not letting it drag but it was still filthy. I think you will be fine for photos though.

I was done and back at our room before 8am. If that helps you with the timeline.

Hey! Did you do the shoot the same day as the wedding?

My dress was filthy before we even started the MK shoot. It gets real dirty at SBP and the boardwalk. It got worse at MK but you cannot tell in any of the photographs and luckily the dirt all came out when it was cleaned since I wore the dress again for our home reception.
