If you pay extra to park Preferred you will be in walking distance of TTC, otherwise you will ride the tram to the TTC. Tram will drop you right in front of security lines.

Once there you will go through security and then it is up to you if you wish to ride the monorail or the ferry boat over to the MK.

If you arrive VERY early for a breakfast, you might have to take a bus from there if other two are not running.

It's simple really... You park, take the tram to TTC, go to the right and take the Monorail to MK or to the left and take the ferry. Either one can be fun. I prefer the ferry because it's a boat that cruises by the Poly, the Grand Floridian and The Contemporary and you have the vision of the Castle as it gets closer and closer. The monorail is fun and it goes through the middle of the Contemporary. There is no way to walk from TTC to MK. I believe it is over a mile even if you could.

I’ve parked forever out and have still walked, fwiw. Not always, but when I was with my non-complainy friend. :)

*walked to where you catch the monorail or ferry, to be clear.

Though since I’ve done several half marathons there I’ve also traveled by foot through parking lot etc and right up into MK, lol.

Out of curiosity, how did you walk from the parking to MK? If I am mistaken, you can't walk from the TTC directly to the front gate of the MK. There is no path around the lagoon. With half and full marathons, you would enter / exit through the back entrance which isn't open to the public. With half and full marathons, they would also close the roadway to allow you to walk under the waterway the connects the lagoon to the lake but again that is not open to the public.

When you drive to the MK, there will be CM's directing you to a specific area of the lot. When you park, note whether you are in the "Heroes" or "Villains" section, the character, and the row # (important info for finding your car later!).

When you leave your car, follow the crowd to the tram loading area, and follow the CM's instructions. The tram will take you to the TTC! (While it is possible to walk to the TTC from anywhere in the MK lot, almost everyone takes the tram. Sometimes families with strollers choose to walk because of a sleeping baby, and/or to avoid having to fold the strollers for the tram. Others just like to walk, I suppose.)

When you arrive at the TTC, you will disembark from the tram, and go through a security check. Now you are ready to travel to the MK!

As mentioned previously, the options to the MK from the TTC are the monorail (resort or express), the ferry, and possibly buses. There is no option to walk from the TTC to the MK.

(Frankly, compared to the other parks, it is a huge PITA to get to the MK gates from your car, but it is what it is.)

I never park preferred, and I never take the tram. At any park. :confused3

Me either  but ....

MK might be a tough walk depending on your spot. I wouldn’t want someone to not know what’s likely to happen.

We just park where we are directed to and then walk to security, then to either the ferry or monorail.

Don't be concerned when you approach the parking lot area...it is probably the most convoluted space I've seen in a looooong time. With all the road construction going on, the route keeps changing, and it sometimes looks like you're not going to a parking area!!!! Just be patient!!
I don't usually use the trams but if it's hot or if I'm in a distant area, then it's not a bad idea. If you arrive later in the day, you can be a long walk to the TTC!!!
