MK Parking Question

I'll be heading to Disney next month, and I'm pretty much trying to plan out everything beforehand to make things easier when my mom and I get there. We will only be going to Magic Kingdom, but we will also be heading to the Polynesian Resort at the end of the day to have my birthday dinner at Kona Cafe before heading home.
So the question is, would it be better to park in the Magic Kingdom parking lot, or park at the Polynesian Resort since we will be heading home right after eating? I figured if we parked at the resort, we take the monorail to MK. Then when dinner time rolls around, we take the monorail back to the resort, and from there we head down to parking and go straight home. It beats all the parking traffic at MK. Another thing though, would we even be allowed to park at the resort even though we don't have a room booked? Thank you to whoever read all of this rambling!:thumbsup2

You are not allowed to park at the Poly and go to MK.

But, no worries, as the MK/TTC lot is absolutely next door to the Poly and the Poly lot, anyway.

And, there is not much difference in traffic as you exit the Poly lot or the MK lot.
They empty into the same road.

Thank you SO much for clearing that up :D! I'm really glad I found this out now instead of making the mistake when I get there. I really do appreciate the picture you supplied as well:grouphug:! HUGE help. I'm new to planning out stuff like this so I'm trying to learn the ins and outs of everything. Of course though if my mom and I decide to head back to MK after eating at Kona Cafe, we just hop back on the monorail and they'll let us back in? I'm using the free Disney birthday pass and my mom is buying her own separate MK ticket. Sorry for all the questions:idea:.
