MK opens....run from land to land?

Hi Guys,

I'm a DL vetran, planning my first trip to WDW this Dec. My question is this:

DL is a relatively small park. It is pretty easy to move from Space Mtn to Splash Mtn in a few minutes. So when the park opens, I usually grab a FP for Space and run over to Splash.

Would this strategy work at the MK? It seems way more spread out and big. Is it wise to waste time running between lands in the morning when the park opens?

Thanks!!

It takes longer to get across the park. I usually walk past Splash, get
a FastPass for Big Thunder, then head back to the Splash standby line.

The West Side of the Magic Kingdom tends to get the crowds first, since
Splash and Big Thunder are within spitting distance of each other.

The walk from Space to Splash is probably 10-15 minutes. also there are two super headliner rides at each end of the park, Splash and Thunder Railroad, and Space and Buzz. Go to one area do those, and pick up the other two nearer the end of the day when lines are shorter.

If you go in off season, even that is probably not necessary

I always hit Tomorrowland and Fantasyland first - it gets busiest during the day

If you are there for an EMH morning, only Tommorrowland & Fantasyland are open. Go to Space, do that then Buzz & anything else you want in TL, move to FL & catch the biggies you want there & be at the rope between FL & Liberty Square at 9:00 for Park opening. Head right to Splash, grab a FP, hit BTMRR (you may get to ride twice in row getting there this early) & back to Splash.

WDW MK is more spread out than DL, it'll take you about 7-10 minutes to get from Space to Splash. It's certainly doable if you aren't on an EMH morning.

When we went in early June, we went into the MK before the rope drop. At rope drop, we headed to Splash Mountain and rode it 4 times with no wait. Well actually, we rode Splash Mountain twice, them BTMRR, and then SM two more times. Keep in mind that the RR Train is right outside the exit to Splash Mountain. We took the train to Mickeys Toontown and there is a trail (with no people or crowds) that takes you straight to Space Mountain. We got a Fast Pass to Space Mountain and did the rest of T.Land while we waited for our time to get on Space Mountain. Just remember the train right outside Splash Mountain!!!!!
