Since this is WDW Marathon day, anyone have any ideas what the crowds might be or what they have been in the past? Also, what is transportation like to the parks that day? We are staying at BWV.

I was thinking we should go to Epcot or MGM that day to avoid the potential transportation issues. However, we arrive on Friday the 6th at about 2pm - so we were going to go to MGM that night. Then Saturday, I am running in the Disney Family Fun 5K - which is at Epcot - so we are staying there for the day. Anyway... if I don't get to MK by Sunday, my 5 year old will burst! :rotfl:

Thanks... only 2 more days and I will be at my favorite place!

We have been at WDW a couple of times on "Marathon Day" and not even noticed it was going on.

I agree with Robo. Other than a little mixed up traffic in one area of the property near Wilderness Lodge, no problems.

Thanks Robo and Shells9. That is what I was hoping. :)

While my daughter loves Epcot (I have taught her well!), she still loves MK and keeps talking about how many times she is goint to ride Space Mountain. So instead of running to Fantasyland this year, we will be dashing to the "mountains" - Space, Splash and BTMRR right away when we get there on Sunday! Can't wait! :Pinkbounc

DH and I were at MK two years ago on Marathon Day. We had to take our resort bus to TTC and then the monarail over to MK. They had Main St roped off on either side with specified places to cross, if I remember correctly. I know we were able to cross b/c we were at Casey's and then ended up at Main St. Bakery. I don't remember it affecting the crowd levels. We did KTTK tour that morning and everything seem to operate normally throughout the park. Have fun!!

Thanks for the update terribm. I am just the planner and I like to be "efficient" with my park days.

I just want to make sure it won't be a morning "bust" since I have found that we can get more done from 9am to noon than for the rest of the day when doing MK. I will make sure we leave by 8am to get there for opening! Thanks!

Time to leave work and go home to pack... I am trying to pack lighter this year, but it does not seem to be working. Oh well...
