We are WDw veterans and will be there again the second weekend in January.DD is running the half marathon and we won't be able to get to a park until around 11:30. Since MK has emh on Friday we are considering it for Saturday.Like I said we have been many times so no commando touring for us.If not Mk,what park and why? Thanks for taking the time to help ::MinnieMo ::MinnieMo

Magic Kingdom is ALWAYS busy on Saturday, just a fact of Disney life, but I would have to say that during the off seasons it still isn't bad, usually no more than 20 minutes or so for rides, and that is usually in Fantasyland.

We're planning our first day to be a Saturday at MK. Everything I've read in books says that Saturday is supposed to be a decent, not too terribly busy day in that park, that Sundays are supposed to be worse. But then everything I've read on this board says that Saturday is busy, busy, busy.
We're doing it anyways, cause it's our first day and by gosh it's got to be the MK! lol!
It's January. . . so how bad can it be?

We went last year on 12/11 which was a Saturday. It really was't that bad. We got alot accomplished. If we thought a line was too long, we just skipped it went to something else.

I was afraid of Saturday on our past trip, but read that it hasn't been bad since Fridays are EMH now. So we went and I have to say it wasn't bad at all. Get there at park opening and you will be fine. We had an itinerary and made sure to do all the Fantasyland rides the kids wanted to do asap. By noon it was way more crowded. We had an awesome day!

I do have to add that we also did a Tuesday there since it was rated the best for that week and I thought it was busier than Saturday. Maybe it was just some bad timing for some rides but even Small World had a big line at one point.
