MK on Party night but not attending.

I've seen CM hang out in the space between Pecos Bill's and Splash. They let people know the park is closing at 7. They don't "chase" anyone out until 7pm. Then they'll not permit them towards Splash and BTMR. They suggest exiting and if the party isn't sold out, they "suggestive sale" buying a party ticket to stay and enjoy the party. Same thing happens on the bridge between Cosmic Ray's and the castle.

As a guest, you can determine what works best for you and your family. You cannot push your decision on others, and honestly, if you are taking advantage of the early access that you did not pay for, adding to the crowding that occurs between 4 and 7, how can you challenge those who paid for that timeframe to leave? Fair is Fair.

This is one of those things that only what Disney says and does matters. If they allow guests to get in line at 6:59 oh well. If they allow guests with party tickets to enter at 3:45 there is nothing any of us can do about it. Maybe some find it frustrating, but doing what Disney allows is not being rude or dishonest.

With all due respect, piffle. Disney Park operations are not the same thing as your neighborhood shop.

The party nights are the only situation in which guests (in this case, non party guests) are not entitled to shop, use the rest rooms, or eat after official park hours end. They are entitled to full use of all park services and attractions until then. They are entitled to any ADR with a time beginning before 7:00 pm. On any night, whether it's a party night or not, guests who have entered an attraction's line before closing time are entitled to finish that experience.

Last year Disney started cancelling any fast passes that ran past 6:30, presumably because they want people out by 7 instead of lingering on rides. I see ADRs as different than rides though. If you're sitting in a restaurant, you're not taking up crowd space or making ride lines longer. Yes, you're twking up space in the restaurqnt, but it seems like very most party-goers consider ADRs a waste of party time.

I'm pretty sure Disney has a filter or something with the ADRs. @smitch425 hopefully remembers. Weren't non-party ADR times cut off at a certain time on party nights in the system? Or was that just FP schedule like @Robo mentioned?

Anyone can schedule an ADR for any time. But for times starting at 7 PM on party nights, you will get a message saying you need a party ticket to keep the ADR. So you can make one up to and including 6:55 without a party ticket.

I just look at it as the ticket being good from 4a-12p with the party starting at 7p. I really don't see it as different than an early ADR or whatever.

But I also don't care about people being in the park until 7p. Do I think it's a little ridiculous to jump in a line at 6:59p? Yeah. But, as long as people exit after, it's whatever.

Not allowing a fastpass after 6:30 and not allowing someone to enter a ride queue at 6:59 are 2 different things. As long as they allow people to enter the lines at 6:59, one can only assume the rest of it is just pre-emptive nudging.

Disney seems to keep all its attractions open to all comers until the moment the park closes, even those like BTMRR way in the back. I'll go with that over their esteemed "Moms Panel".

I do see where party night closures are different from the Disney norm, and maybe hard to understand, as most stores and restaurants in the rest of our lives do mean "please get out by closing time". I often go to MK on a party day when I do not have a party ticket because of the lower daytime crowds. I just realized last trip, though, that I am not usually there right up to 7. Talk about a logjam! There was so much foot traffic trying to get out of MK and cross to/ from buses, monorail, boat that it was a real challenge just to walk through the entry/departure area. Having a 6:55 ADR seems like a fantastic way to be in the park as long as your day ticket allows, yet still avoid that melee!

BTW: great to see you back around!

I have not been at this time of year but what would happen if you have a 645 ressie but they do bot get you seated right 9on time and it is now after 7? could you be removed from park while waiting?

Nope.
You'd just stay at the restaurant, waiting for your table like any other time.

I know that you believe that you are correct, but you are not. Disney knows that folks paid for tickets that last until 7 PM and allows guests to use the park, and that means get in lines, have dinner and shop until 7 PM> Now when the clocks strikes 7, entry is closed.

Again, you may think this is the correct plan for everyone to follow, but unless Disney agrees.....you are just suggestions. Now....what time can you enter the MK if you have a party ticket? The party starts at 7PM, but Disney allows folks to enter at 4PM. They are allowed to secure FP for those three hours between 4 and 7. Pretty nice strategy for party goers, right? Pay for a party, get three additional hours and have FP the those folks who paid entry to the park that day might have wanted. Or is this bad manners?

You see, you cannot have it both ways. Party people have the ability to enter at 4, use the shops, restaurants and get their meals our of the way before the party starts, and book FP for the attractions that they do not want to stand in a line for. The folks who paid for those park tickets are sharing the park fm 4 to 7 with a lot of people whose tickets are nto actually valid until 7, and I have never read one complaint about that. So if we follow YOUR unles...Party people: your time starts at 7PM. Not one second prior..... So it is your responsibility to make your way in at 7, and stay off of the attractions and out of the restaurants so that the peopl who paid for those things can enjoy them without having to fight for ADR's and places in line.

Never effects our family; on "party day" we're in AK at rope drop. For us it's considered a "half-day" park which works perfectly. We've used our park ticket for the day there; we leave between 3:30 and 4 to return to our resort. We have a light evening meal and get to the MK around 6:45 depending on which resort we're in. Yes, we could have entered at 4 but we don't. Party evenings are long enough for us if we stay until the park closes....which we're able to do since we've had a few hours rest at our resort. Just stating the facts for OUR family. :goodvibes :tink:

Who's having it both ways? These are Disney's rules. And let's be honest, the reason that there's a 3hr overlap there is because Main Street is a chokepoint. Imagine trying to get all the day guests out and the party guests in at the same time.

We were there as a guest on the evening that switched to MVMCP, and didn't have park tickets. We got in line for 7 Dwarfs at about 6:58 (right before 7) the wait was about 20-30 mins or so, and we didn't have anyone question or look for a wrist band, once we got off we slowly walked toward the entrance, probably left around 8 or so, no we didn't do any shopping or eating (did use a restroom I believe I don't remember anyone guarding it, that's crazy). I am sorry I think anyone in the park without a party ticket should be able to enter any ride up until 7pm, that's the same policy as if the park was to close, as long as you are in line by the time the park closes, you get to ride. We understood the policy, and never tried to participate (or even really desire to) in any of the special christmas party events.

We did exactly the same thing at Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor. It was around 7:35 when we got out and we just casually walked out of the park. We didn't stop or anything and nobody asked to see our bands or to escort us out. We knew we had to leave since it was after 7. Got to Monorail around 8, went to the Poly for dinner and then watched Hallowishes from the beach after dinner.

Unfortunately, it's not crazy. I've read reports of people attempting to hide in the bathrooms in order to stay for the party without buying a ticket.

My post was in response to those who wee insisting that people without a ticket on a party night should not be in the park after 7PM. That no one without a ticket shoudl be in a restaurant at 6:5 for an ADR or in queue just before 7. However they see nothing wrong with Disney allowing party people to enter before 7. I am an advocates that since Disney allows both behaviors it is acceptable. I was simply trying to say that I find it ironic that I never see anyone who is a normal ticket holder complaining about the bottlenecks between 4 and 7, yet peole who are party goers are pretty specific about what is improper behavior.
