I've heard that all the parks are crowded on the weekends....but what do all of you experts think of going to MK on Sun, 5/7, the morning after it closes early for a grad night? Big mistake? If so, what it the better bet? The next day, Monday (which I have heard to steer clear of - Early EMH) or Tuesday?

We have had good Sundays and very busy Sundays. This year the Sunday after Pres week was crazy. Last time it was very slow in April

You may check the EMH schedule as I believe that day has MK Evening EMH. If so you can bet crowds during the day will be heavy. People with non-park hopper passes will be there to take advantage of the Evening EMH. In order for those with non park hopper tickets to take advantage of Evening EMH at the MK they will need to visit that park since they can't park hop.

We were there the last week of April in 2005 and at MK on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was totally crazy but Sunday morning when the park first opened was fine. We were able to go on all the rides in Fantasyland will very little wait. Planning on doing this again in this years intinerary.

We are going to be going to MK on a Sunday after it's closed for Grad Night. It's our first full day and I couldn't imagine not going to MK on our first day. I guess we'll just see how it goes and can always head to the pool when it gets too crowded. If the rumors are true, we would also get to ride POC the last day before it closes for the 2nd stage of refurbishment.

from what I can tell by the schedule, the Monday is question is NOT an EMH day...

If you get there at opening on Sunday it's not bad.

After spending the day at AK and checking into VWL Im planning on taking the boat over to the MK late night hours. Wasnt originally in the plans but since I'll be close I figured why not? I can always leave - its extra time, not park commando time

what are grad nights? i am arriving may 7th, sunday.....i thought that was an EMH PM? or is it closed early as i thought i read on someone's post, for grad night?

We did MK on Sunday of grad night last april... Had breakfast at CRT at 9:00... after breakfast it was a little busy... this was probably around 10:30. We were out of the park no later than 1 pm. The line for the carrousel went around the ride and stretched toward Snow White. I do not know what the rest of the park was like but we were swimming upstream while going down Main Street to leave. Hopped the monorail to Epcot and had a much better day.

Grad nights at WDW are scheduled Fri/Say night in last week of April and first week of May this year. High school seniors from Florida and farther away come to MK and it is open all night long until 6AM just for the seniors. I did a grad night at Disneyland a ...cough, cough... few years ago.

We will be at WDW over the second weekend of grad nights, and are planning to go to MK on Sat May 6 when they close MK at 7PM for the grad night.

I joined TourGuideMike about a month ago, and am planning a trip over that same weekend. I had the same question as you did about MK. If you join TGM he has specific recommendations on what to expect at each park on each day. Many people find the $18 cost to be well worthwhile.
