I've just looked over my new improved Disney plan
We are going the 8th-15th Dec and I'm sure like most people I planned to go to MK on our first day. Unfortunately our first day is a Saturday And there's no way I'm gonna try and fight the local crowds on my first day!!
So after a switch around we're going to AK on Saturday
but the only day I can swap MK to is a Sunday.
I have made ADRs for Tony's at MK on the Sunday. The other bonuses with going this day is that Spectromagic will be on and I haven't seen it yet, and its EMH.

But seriously am I crazy? How busy will Sunday be? (it'll be the 10th Dec)

Thanks xxx

It will be crowded during the day, but I think it will thin out some as the evening comes around, in regards to the locals (kids going to school the next morning and such).

I say go for it.

It's a Sunday in December. It's not going to be 4th of July crowds. :)

Go. Have fun. Stop worrying about how many people will be there, and just go intent on having a good time. Sunday's are actually a great day at the MK. EMH will bring more crowds, but, again, no need to overthink.

I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Our past experience in December has been very low crowds up until the 22nd or so. We are arriving on the 20th for a short stay. Our plane leaves out of Orlando on the 24th in the afternoon, so we were hoping to do a few things at the Magic Kingdom that morning. I am hoping it will be ok. We have never stayed past the 23rd. It is beautiful that time of year, so crowds or not, we will love it.
Have a great time. Eat a dole whip for me on the 11th, that's my birthday.

We went last Dec. 17-22 and went to MK on a Sunday. It was not crowded at all. We got there around 9:30 and were able to get on Dumbo w/ a 10 min wait and little to no waits for everything else. I think that you will be fine.

We will also be at WDW 12/8 - 12/15. I don't think the crowds will be bad at MK on a Sunday in December, I wouldn't worry about it. Have a good trip.

Hey we are going the same days and we ARE going to brave MK on a Saturday. I really don't think it will be outragous and it is also the only day that week that we can make it to Spectro. We are just going to have a good touring plan and leave for awhile during the day to rest.

I went to MK on the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend. I knew what I was getting myself into but it was the day we were going. Honestly, it was not bad at all just had to plan your day well and use fast pass if necessary. A few of the fast pass attractions were 5 minutes waits (Mickey Philharmagic comes to mind right off) while others like Peter Pan were 60 minutes. Obviously we fast passed that one. Anyway, I really thought we would be in for a challenging day and I was pleasantly surprised. We hit lunch a little off the normal time and got seats just fine, the 3pm parade with only a 20 minute wait to stake out spots, then our ADR at CRT, Spectro, fireworks and then called it a night even though it was an EMH night.

We decided that we are going to do AK on our first day this year. We arrive Saturday evening and might take a ride ov er to the Poly and do a lap or two on the monorail but no MK for us until Tuesday evening (MVMCP) Our schedule looks like this for the week of Dec 2 - 9:

Dec 2: arrive & check in at OKW (evening either POly/monorail or exploring OKW)
Dec 3: AK
Dec 4: Epcot
Dec 5: day - relaxing/swimming/DTD evening - MVMCP :santa:
Dec 6: MK
Dec 7: Epcot
Dec 8: MK

I don't expect bad crowds at all but we prefer to have as few people in front of us in line as possible!!!!

Thanks for easing my mind everyone!
That's the last time I listen to DB's worries! He doesn't give me any help with the itinerary or touring plans and then raises objections when everything's done and there's no chance of changing ADRs!
Oh well! not long now!!! :mickeyjum :donald: :ccat: :stitch:
