MK now open 8am-1am on 9/3 why?

i'll be there that day.
i know they don't finalize hours as early as they used to so i've just been randomly checking here and there to see if hours have changed for my stay.
i just checked and was shocked to see MK is open from 8am-1am on 9/3.
i find this odd. am i missing something?

also while on the subject of park hours just wondering if anyone else has heard a rumor that AK may kill late hours before September due to ROL not being up and running any time soon?

and i've gone during labor day weekend before and park hours were not extended by that much and there really was no need to extend them.

We always arrive on a Saturday and in the past few years, 2 of those have been on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. A closing time of 1:00 AM on this day is pretty common. I think it has been even later in the past (1:00 AM closing + night time extra magic hours).

Yep, I'm pretty sure the Saturday of labour day weekend has been open until 2am at least for the past few years.

Definitely the Saturday of Labor Day. When we were down for 4th of July, MK was open until 3am on July 3rd. Crazy.

Don't see it happening.

I could see them going to a 10:00 PM or so close,but too much is invested with ToL Awakening,etc. to go back to closing before dark especially with Avatarland coming.

yes i mean go back to closing before dark but only until ROL opens.

I noticed that also, it makes my PPO BoG kind of pointless, so I'm considering dropping it. We arrive on 9/2, wanted to spend our first day at MK, we have FP+ set up and will make the best of it. Disney keeps messing with my schedule, lol. I have MK on Tuesday and DHS on Monday-both parks now have EMM on those days. Oh well, we will just go with it and be happy to be at Disney.

Haven't heard any such thing about reducing the AK hours this summer.

With everyone's plans already set through beginning of September I wouldn't think that would be in the plans.

Now September hours beyond Labor Day have AK closing at 8pm. So there could be a change in the schedule thereafter if ROL is not running and attendance continues to be low through the summer evenings.

Only conjecture but maybe they would decide to only keep AK open late on some nights not every night til 11.

I'm going in October and the AK hours just changed from 5:00 close to 7:00 close. I just noticed the change a couple of days ago.

hmm when i look neither HS nor MK have EMH on that monday or tuesday.
personally i enjoy going on EMH days.
i pay no attention to crowd calendars and recommended days.
i can get sooo much done in the 1hr AM EMH.
i'm glad MK is opening at 8am actually but i just found it odd.
