Hi,

My wife and I are arriving at Disney on Oct 31st. Has anybody attended the "not no scary halloween" party before?

We are trying to decide whether to get tickets or not - it's just the two of us, our kids are staying at home and we're going down to celebrate our anniversary. Would it be better to go to Downtown Disney or Boardwalk instead?

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Chris

I'm going for the first time this year so I really can't tell you what it's like. I did want to mention to you that the cm I spoke to this morning mentioned a haunted hayride at Ft. Wilderness. It sounds like a blast. You pick up a strange man who tells the story of the headless horseman and then the horseman comes out and chases you. I thought it sounded too scary for my kids but it sounds perfect for two adults.

I went for the first time last year with 3 other adults. At first we weren't sure if it would be something we would like to do but I can tell you we loved it. We are actually trying to book our vacation so that we can go again this year to it. Some people dress up and some people don't so if you don't (which we didn't) you never feel out of place. We had more fun seeing all the customes people and kids were wearing. The park is sooooo cool when you first go in there. There are lights that go along the buildings of main street and decorations. There are stands that you can trick or treat at even if you are adults- we did it was so much fun. You get a free picture that they take of you that they send to you at home. There is a cute parade and the atmoshphere is just not to be missed. You can go on the rides too which the waits are minimal b/c of all the other things going on around you. It was just so much fun that I wouldnt miss trying it at least once.

It is great just got my tickets for the 24th and the 26th
If you do want to go on the 31st buy your tickets soon.

We did MNSSHP on our last trip (Oct 03), and had a really nice time. We went on a Sunday. Most of the adults dress up (at least in Halloween tees), and the kids had some really neat costumes. Our three kids dressed in costumes, and had a blast !!! Best best is to buy your Halloween tickets for 10/31 asap, because of course this is one of the nights that does sell out quickly. Note -- expect it to be rather crowded too...but, enjoy nonetheless!

We went in 2001 and liked it a lot (we did go w/kids, but I'm speaking for DH and me). The parade and fireworks are different from the everynight ones and are in and of themselves definitely worth the price of admission. Here's what we did wrong and would caution against:

DON'T wait in a long line for photographs. If you must have one taken, line up a little early and be one of the first, otherwise skip it and take your own photos.

DON'T ride the "haunted steamboat ride" on the River Belle. It was SOOOO crowded we couldn't hear a thing and it wasted a really big chunk of time.

Don't expect to just walk on rides; it gets really crowded. (Maybe they're selling a more limited number of tickets now, I don't know).
