At least you can walk to MK.Oh good. We check into BLT in 4 hours. Sigh...at least we were planning to go to DHS tonight.
At BLT now. Buses are pretty terrible right now. Give extra time especially leaving the parksOh good. We check into BLT in 4 hours. Sigh...at least we were planning to go to DHS tonight.
We have our own car. No worries. At BLT now. Buses are pretty terrible right now. Give extra time especially leaving the parks
This worries me. I have a dinner reservation at Grand Floridian after being in MK on PArty night. IF the monorail is down- how do i get to Grand floridian from MK? and How will i get from Grand Floridian to Beach CLub after dinner? I am hoping monorail is up and running if not i am in big trouble
great i can always take the boat back to MK and get the bus to Beach ClubThere's a resort boat from MK to the GF - Its route is MK/GF/Poly. Getting to the Beach Club might require taking the bus to Epcot or DHS then taking bus/boat to Beach Club (if the monorail is down)
Is the Epcot line down too? Or just the resorts/MK?
Epcot seems to be working. Just walked up to monorails to leave and it appears to be stuck in the station again. Ugh.

we missed rope drop because they basically never called for buses once it broke
When are they going to scrap the monorails and just build a real mass transit system? This sort of nonsense would never be tolerated in a real mass transit system.
Unreliable is the word for the monorail. Period. I know some consider it a benefit of the resorts on the monorail but I think if it as a hinderance. When it does work great but when it is down (often) it causes a transportation nightmare. I'd rather rely on any other form of transportationUpdate: "Silver" is being taken for repairs. We boarded the next one. But unreliable seems to be the word for the day.
They won't because the property is massive and it would take Billions to build a real mass transit system like Light Rail for the resort. How would you get nearly 30 hotels connected by a Light rail system without a ton of Spurs? A Light rail system would be a massive mess to run because of all of the Spurs on the Major East-west. Understand something about WDW it's a Suburban designed area that handles Urban size crowds (average between all four theme parks is 100,000 plus a day).
Plus, a good bit of the land within the resort area has issues in terms of what kind of pilings are required to support bridges and roads, let alone a rail line. They won't because the property is massive and it would take Billions to build a real mass transit system like Light Rail for the resort.
