No clue ifit is true strictly a rumor.

IMO it's about time Walt didn't want this for DL MK is not DL. The company does nothing the way Walt did anyway so why not this? They will double concession sales with this and if at least one attraction is built or overhauled from this it's worth it. And nothing would taste better on a hot summer day in Gastons than a nice cold pint of beer:thumbsup2

Without beer how could Gaston's Pub be cool? Hope this is true. It's about darn time.:thumbsup2

Double edged sword really. MK is easily the most "kiddie" of the parks. I'm not so sure adding alcohol would be a good idea there. On the other hand, a nice cold beer would do wonders in some of the more pub type places. Imagine a beer and hotdog combo at Casey's??? YUMMMM.

At EPCOT you see drunkards falling over the rails near park closing all the time so it's kind of expected, but I doubt they're going to think too highly of people hitting a few pops and puking on kids at the teacups.

Yeawhich it is disappointing that they don't offer an adult version seeing how it is alcoholic in the books.

I don't believe it is ever really stated that it is alcoholic, at least to any standard for such - especially with it being openly served to minors.

Rootbeer or gingerale?

I haven't had it but isn't the butterbeer at WWHP, cream soda?

No, it's a secret recipe of several things...and it's VERY GOOD!! much better than plain cream soda...but no alcohol

I hope they do not bring alcohol to the parks.. Except maybe for Sit Down Dinning. (one club restaurant at DL serves drinks doesn't it?)

we have all seen the drunks at epcot, i might have been one along time ago.
Do we really want to see this at MK?

True

You can drink at like 16 over there I think.

In the UK, you must be 18 to purchase alcohol. You can consume at 16 at a table service meal, so long as an adult orders and purchases (in England and U believe Wales - I think it differs in Scotland and NI). In the movies, they consumed butterbeer at 13.

In private, you can drink as young as 5 according to the law...

I really hope not...I know I'm going to be in the minority here but EPCOT is bad enough. I would hate to see people drunk at MK. If people were responsible I would say go for it. But people will be getting hammered drunk and there are way to many kids at MK that don't need to see 2 adults making out (basically having sex saw it at EPCOT a lot) or fighting or causing some sort of altercation because they can't control their alcohol consumption.

If it did happen it would show Disney is all about the $ now and nastalgia means nothing to them. I think Walt would fire anyone who even gave this idea any thought at all.

Epcot is wonderful. Funny how many times I've been there -- and how many F&W festivals I've attended -- and never seen all the awful behavior described on the Dis.

But I have seen apparently sober people engage in some pretty horrific behavior on just about every trip.

Maybe these people just need a drink to calm them down.

+1
That said, I would still rather see the MK stay dry. For some reason it just seems "right."..

I've seen some terrible things around EPCOT at closing. I saw some junkies snorting once. A couple about to have sex basically and random argument that almost lead to fights...but this was during F&W so maybe thats why it was bad those particular nights.:confused3

Also for what it's worth all of these incidents were reported and handled by Disney security. But still.

Something like coke that is a secret recipe but still better than plain cola?
