MK: Main Street Barber, anything special for girls??

I tried to figure out where it is on the guide map, and I did not see it. Where is the Barbershop on Main Street??

We were the 2nd one in the door and we were out in about 15 minutes -- that included getting DD's hair trimmed and done like this:

So much fun to get hair cut there....one of our traditions of each trip.
DS gets his hair glittered and painted each time. DH did it with him on last two trips. Someone posted about the painted Mickey heads on the back....see my avatar for DH and DS :goodvibes

No one is too old :goodvibes

Right before my kids got their haircut there was a family with 4 girls (teens to mid-twenties) that all had their hair done. I've also seen pictures of men who got a mickey painted on the back of their head instead of the colored highlights.

I got "Pixie Dusted" in 2006 and there was no charge at that time. It was fun and THOROUGHLY embarrassed my kids who were 15 and 18 during that trip!

Psssstt... I was 40 on this trip when I got this done!!! :rolleyes1

From All Ears "The Harmony Barber Shop is located on the left as you enter the Magic Kingdom, past City Hall, tucked in between the "car barn" and the Emporium."

So fun!! I cant wait!!! We shall see if the whole family gets it done!!!

I have very very short hair in the back... I can't wait to get a "hidden mickey" on the back!!!

My daughter has already had her hair cut but we are going to go anyway and get a trim and glittered :) Thanks I love all the pictures.

My 3 boys got haircuts there in November. My little ds first and it was great. He wasn't happy but it was a nice cut. My older 2 boys also got cuts and my 6 yo got his hair spiked up, painted and sprinkled. He loved it. He got comments on it all day. My older ds just a cut. They were all good haircuts too. I wish I knew how to add a picture but I don't. Sorry.

My daughter will be 22 months on our trip, but doesn't have much hair. Would they do a "first haircut" and just take a tiny bit off?

How long does it typically take for a kid (2 or 3yo) to get a haircut here? (not asking about wait time) How about glitter/confetti for Mom (aka ME)????? That pic of the little girl with the ponytail is so adorable it makes me want to do it (myself and dd)!!!!!!!

Just curious, can we use the birthday fun pass to pay for this service? We will be there on my DH bday and I think it would be a great surprise.

We didn't have DD hair cut we just had the color and glitter put in. They even sprayed down her braids with hairspray to get the glitter to stick to those. Warning though it takes a LONG time for the Mickey's to dry.

Here is son's They did cut his hair

On an Adults only trip once my DH had his hair done and they gelled him much as they did our son's. Be careful though if you don't want glitter because while I was laughing at DH one of the CM's came up behind me and showered me with confetti so I had just as much in my hair all day as he did.

How long does the color last in the hair??
Thanks.
It would last a while. It dries and gets hard. My girls had it done early in the morning and it looked exactly the same late that night. We washed it out before they went to bed.

They'll cut any amount you ask. My DD was 4 and had very long hair. She wanted her first haircut there, but didn't really want to get her hair cut. The woman trimmed of maybe an inch of dead ends and laughed that it didn't even look like she'd had anything cut.

My daughter's cut took less than 5 minutes, and then about 5 minutes to do the color/confetti. My son's was maybe 10 minutes for the cut (no color).

I didn't have mine done, but I did see teens and adult women and men with their hair done. My girls have suggested that I have mine done with them next time. I'm sure it would be a fun bonding experience.

does anyone know the hours of the barber shop- will they be open prior to rope drop-I asked this question on another thread and didn't get a response yet...we have ressies at CRT at 9:00am so we will be allowed in early would love to do this for my two girls.

I believe the hours are 9-5. I don't think they would be open before rope drop.
