Just read Dream unlim. hours for Magic kingdom from last Sept. week of 9/29-10/4 and on most nights park closed at 6:00 PM!!
I am rethinking my vac plans as this stinks if these are hours for this year also. Called disney and was told they don't know park hours until 90 days before. Anyone have experience for this week?
HELP!

6 or 7 pm on week days sounds about right to me from past experience. Also Tuesdays in the past have been E-ride nights at MK.

We've gone in the past in Sept, Jan & early Dec. It is not unusual for the MK to close at 6 - 7 pm every night. We just do EMH at the MK & we always finish everything at the park & usually before lunch. :) The parks are usually so slow during these timeframes that you can easily get everything done in these hours. When the parks close early we head over to MGM for Fantasmic & Epcot to walk around the World & see Illuminations. You can also go shopping at DTD in the evenings, catch the Electric Water Pageant, or swim at your resort. I think our trips are very relaxing when we aren't in the parks until 10 pm every night. I think you'd really love it in Sept. HTH! :)

We went the week before last year, 9/20-9/28 and it was wonderful. MK did close early, BUT there was nobody there so we got everything done, multiple tmes. DH said he will never go anytime but September becasue of the low attendance. It was great. We had the character bus at Epcot almost to ourselves!!! It was wonderful and magical. Don't woryy, just start early and enjoy. DH loved ot so much, he didn't even blink when I asked to book this year. His only question, September again, right???? Once I said of course, he pulled out his work calendar and I booked within minutes, 9/17-9/25 this year. You will love it.

We've been there the past 2 Sept's. Yes, MK closes early almost every night. We only had the fireworks & Spectro on Sat night.

MGM was open till about 8 and Epcot FW was open till 9 with their nightly fireworks shows.

Even though MK closes early, it didn't seem to "matter". The crowds are lighter so you waste much less time standing in line.

We love going in Sept!

Going in Sept is great even if the park closes early. There are so few people there that you get to do everything you want. Limited hours are never an issue.

In all the sept months we have gone, the MK closed at 7 pm on weeknights and at 9 on sat. I too thought this would be bad, but since the parks are empty, its not a factor at all. There are no lines. I have pictures of ride signs at 1 pm that say no wait. I remember we even went to RnR at 2 pm and there was no wait at all. I could not believe it. I kinda like that they close a little early, then its an excuse to go to DD for the night.

Yes typically the parks close early, but whenever the parks close early anytime of the year is because there is not enough guests there to want the park open later. So like most people said it is most likely the best time to go, Sept & Feb are the two slowest times year round. So come on down and enjoy the fact that you don't have to drive yourself crazy to get everything done! (Also I used to work at MK so I know 1st hand that this is the case) former pirate:

For all who have visited in sept --- How is the weather? Still as hot as July and Aug? Is it really that rainy due to hurricane season?

We went right after Labor day last year. This was our first time in Sept. It is definitely humid....my hair can vouch for that...lol but it wasn't uncomfortable hot. I live in PA and in my opinion it is no worse than summer here. It did rain a little bit every day while we were there but only one or two major showers. One was a morning shower over by noon and one was a night shower. Let's put it this way....the rain didn't slow us down.

But, there is a difference this year than last, because WDW has commited to showing Wishes every night at the MK, except for hard ticket event nights. So, September will be a month that benefits from this policy, because the MK will have to stay open until at least 8 pm for it to be dark enough to have the fireworks. Be aware that Night of Joy will take place on Sept. 9, 10, and 11th, so the MK will close early those nights, and there will be no fireworks at park closing. It remains to be seen whether there will be any E-ride nights or not, but in my opinion, they will not.
