We have done e-night twice before. Once in 1997 and once in 2000. Each time we saw the parade, fireworks and then after the mass exodus of non e-night guests from the park we had loads of fun for 3 hours. In fact in 1997 the park closed at 10pm and we were there for e-night until 1am. This year we will be in WDW for e-night on Aug. 19. I see from the Disneyworld.com site that the park hours for Aug. 18 and Aug. 20 are 9am-10pm and there is a parade and fireworks both nights. Yet on e-night, Aug. 19, the park hours are 9am-8pm without parade or fireworks. Just seems weird to me. Is this how e-nights are done now? Close the park earlier, no parade, no fireworks. Just wondering.

Kinda strange, huh??!!!!
I don't see what their strategy is?!!
We always took advantage of E-nights too. But it was great to be there for the fireworks/parade and not have to be herded out with the rest of the people. We would just head straight to BTMRR.
This is almost as if you are paying $12 /person just to stay in the park as late as you would on another night for free!!! Except you are paying NOT to see fireworks or the parade. You are still stuck going to MK both nights.

On the other hand, the earlier enights work for us because I want to take my 5 yr old and we won't have to be up so late...especially on the 7 p.m. enight the 22nd. Guess the best of both worlds would be to have a late one with the fireworks/parade and then an early one for us. I'm just happy we have two during our stay! :Pinkbounc

Carol - We did a 10PM - 1AM e-night this July with our 4 YO and 8 YO. Planned a nice afternoon nap (2 Hr) and those guys were not the LEAST bit tired at 1:00 AM when we had to leave MK.

It was our first e-night and lots of fun, of course they had Spectro and fireworks - Don't be surprised if they change the 8/19 schedule a few days beforehand.

Where do you get the info on the e-nights? I'm not sure I'm interested in paying extra to stay in a park I've already paid for, but it would be good to check it out.

Is there somewhere that lists which rides are open on e-night?

E-TICKET (E-RIDE) NIGHTS INFORMATION

I could be wrong but isn't the third week in August the week that the park hours at MK start getting cut way back? I knew this was going to be the case when we booked. When we've gone in Oct the park closed at 7 most nights. Imagine those poor people that are going to MK and don't get any parades/fireworks. I think there are several showings of Spectro while we're there but mostly the park is closing on the early side.

Magic Kingdom hours for Aug. 15-22

Aug. 15 9:00am - 10:00pm E-night 10pm - 1am

Aug. 16 9:00am - 10:00pm

Aug. 17 9:00am - 8:00pm

Aug. 18 9:00am - 10:00pm

Aug. 19 9:00am - 8:00pm E-night 8pm - 11pm

Aug. 20 9:00am - 10:00pm

Aug. 21 9:00am - 8:00pm

Aug. 22 9:00am - 7:00pm E-night 7pm - 10pm

The closing hours for this week seem to be all over the place with half of them at 10pm. The last week of August is when the hours are cut back significantly.

IMHO......closing the park at 7pm on any Friday night during the summer!!!! ..............Then charging an additional $12 /person to stay open til 10pm is robbery! Especially when there are 3 other nights in the same week that they are open til 10pm and NOT CHARGING EXTRA!!!

That is crazy!

I understand the whole fluctuating of hours due to crowd levels, etc...during busy and slow times.
But I thought that one of the reasons to have E-nights was to give resort guests the opportunity to ride the "busier" rides with less chance of long lines.
If they honestly think that MK is going to be so slow that day they they need to close at 7pm!!!! Then why the E-night?????

Can I spend my day at MGM and then hop over to MK for enight??? And if I can where and when and how would I buy the ticket.

Thanks
