Hubby and DD are huge fans. I'm a traditionalist.

DLR's bread and butter is with APs and guests who visit multiple times a year.

WDW is more of a destination where most guests visit once in a while or do once in a lifetime trips.

DLR can get away with having their HM overrun with NMB4C for a few months in the year, where as WDW would have a lot of unhappy guests if such an iconic ride had that kind of facelift during what could be their only visit to WDW ever.

As others have said, Haunted Mansion Holiday is only available at Disneyland. While I do think it would be popular at MK in some respects, I agree with OhthePain that there would probably be a goodly number of guests that would be unhappy to miss out on the classic Haunted Mansion. Another part of the problem is that it would require HM to be down for almost a month each year to have the overlay installed and removed. It takes 18-days to install the overlay (late-August to early September) and and 11-days to remove it (early January to mid-January), so at DL, HM is down for 27-days each year. Basically, at DL, the classic Mansion is available for 7 months, Haunted Mansion Holiday is available for 4 months, and the attraction is down for 1 month.
