Trying to figure out the best way to enjoy the MK fireworks for our family. We would like to sit down and not be near crowds. Would the fireworks cruise, contemporary event, or a dessert party be better? We have a dozen people, but not all would likely join...
Cruise seems good to avoid crowds, but a castle view would be great...

For seats not near crowds, the dessert party on the terrace would include the view of the castle projections. A private fireworks cruise would view fireworks but would miss the projections.

Thanks- are the projections worth seeing?

Best view is going to be the dessert party. If you don't mind standing, I would do the Plaza Garden one. The view is better and it is cheaper. You can sit on the ground until the fireworks start and if you go towards the back, you can lean against the railing. The back is actually the best spot IMO.

Be prepared for absolute madness if you are anywhere near Main Street and the Hub. I cannot stress enough how much I would avoid this show altogether. The dessert parties are still crowded and you may experience cast members struggling with crowd control around the party area. It’s not the cast members fault, they’ve been given an impossible task. We went on a slower August evening and had the absolute worst experience just being on Main Street. We didn’t even get to see the show because of the chaos. I’ve been on Main Street for busy times, many times, but nothing compares to what Enchantment has created. Just an honest opinion from personal experience- especially with a large group- save the money and spend it on something fun and not stressful.

This is one area we splurge on. We do a dessert party- I actually like the after party (garden seating) since it gets you into the garden to camp out and relax without having to rush through desserts, and then while everyone is leaving you you can go eat without being in the massive crowds.
We did this in August and there was some chaos related to a storm that came through and delayed the fireworks- someone took the rope down to the area so of course people filled it up, but once cast members got the all clear to be outside again they came through and made everyone without a wristband leave. We had to witness some very poor behavior from one man who was pissed and refusing to leave but once he was gone it was all fine.
We just threw our ponchos on the ground and sat on them to rest our feet until the show started, then we stood up so we could see. Not sure if the rain chased people out but it was not crowded in the least. We stood against the back fence and had tons of space.
I refuse to do the Main Street crowds so if we couldn't splurge on a party, I'd probably just not watch the full show. We rode BTMR during the fireworks another night on our trip and it was awesome, we got off and watched the rest from that area.

We’ve always avoided crowds by watching them behind the castle, between 7DMT and the bridge to Be Our Guest. You can get photos of fireworks at castle and over the Beasts’s castle. They actually pretty much surround you there. Downside, you miss the projections.
