Ok DIS experts, years ago I had found a chart of places to stand for the MK fireworks and I cannot seem to find it anymore. We dont necessarily need to have the best view, but we would like to stand in a spot where people cannot stand directly in front of us and all around us (think behind a fence, etc). The last several times we attempted the hub, we waited an hour for the show and then right as it started the walkways fill up with people and my kids could see nothing surrounded by adults with kids on their shoulders. So are there any good locations where you can get a decent view like this besides the dessert parties? TIA

The only luck we've ever had with kids viewing is up against a fence. We always ended up on the corner by The Plaza towards the secondary exit. There's about 2-3 feet of prime viewing location there... hit or miss when you need to be there for it. It used to always be open like 30 minutes prior, now it never is.

If you're committed I would try for behind one of the planters with the fountains, that's a time investment though - but you do get a surface to sit on with the planter.

I'm not a camper, I can handle maybe 30 minutes before I go crazy. No idea how people sit there for hours.

I'm short (5'2"), so we always grab a spot behind a planter or I can't see (make sure you're behind, not in front - it baffles me the people who wait early in front to just have tons of people fill in at the last second). The downside is you need to grab a spot a good 90 minutes beforehand, at least. We always grab a spot and then take turns hitting the main street shops and getting dinner/snacks.

As shared by @KristaZ , there are small trees around the hub that have short fences around them. Standing behind one of those fences approx 60-90 mins before the fireworks begin has worked for us. It’s amazing how much a view is improved by just that foot or two where people cannot stand directly in front of you.

We like being on Main Street. As close to the tape crossing as possible. They don't let anyone stand in the walkway so this gives you some room in front of you and less likely to have many directly in front.

Are these the hubs reserved for the pre dessert party? Or are they accessible to anyone?

These spots are accessible to everyone. The ones reserved for the dessert party are I believe inside the fence on the actual hub grass. The spots people are mentioning here are closer to the castle on pavement, just behind the fenced in planter areas.

We stood on the grassy area in front of the Casey’s Corner side and it was not reserved for parties.

In the pics I posted above, the daylight one was from the internet only to show what the fenced area looks like as i did not have a pic of those. The actual fireworks pic was from our spot on the Casey’s Corner side of the hub.

I second @scrappinginontario 's suggestion for a decent hub location. Alternative - If you've already seen fireworks from the front and have a second night in MK, consider the favorite of the littles in my group (age 7 and 10) - watch from un-crowded Fantasyland while riding walk-on rides. Of course you can't see the castle projections from Fantasyland, but you feel up close and personal with the fireworks. When they go off, it seems like they're right overhead. We usually ride Peter Pan (walk-on) about 15 min before the fireworks begin, then head over to the carousel area, watch a bit, then head down toward Dumbo. We end riding Barnstormer. Typically the kids are allowed to stay on and ride over and over as the fireworks finale goes off overhead. They love it. I love not being anywhere near the crowd in the hub.

We actually like the view over in liberty square. Yes the perspective is off a bit since you do not have the castle in front but great viewing of the fireworks. There is a planter just left of the stockades that we always sit on.

I know I am probably missing it but where can I go to find the times/dates of the fireworks and shows in each park? This used to be an easy thing to find on the Disney website but either I have become dumber or the Disney website has become harder to navigate, I'll go with the latter option. Anyway, we will be there in early December and have some in our travel party that we would like to see these things, any info on a helpful link would be appreciated.

From the main disney page, you can get there from the main ribbon at the top. Just hover over "Parks & Tickets" and choose a specific park or click the "More Hours" link

Can you see the castle projections from there?
