MK Fireworks - Is there a quiet spot?

We are going to MK on an evening EMH hours night. The older kids are looking forward to the park at night, but my youngest doesn't like fireworks so I am looking for ideas/quiet spots where her and DH might be able to go until they are over.

Would the Dumbo playground be open or the Buzz Lightyear ride?

We will be coming from the luau at the Poly, so they could also wait there or ride the monorail.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Amy

I have problems with sounds and use these, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N2RM9AB?ref_=ams_ad_dp_asin_2 for fire works ( and some times I will put my ear buds under them with/without music if I am having a really hard day) when I am at the MK I will some times go into a store and just hide out there until it is over, for me there being loud noises and crowded together is something out of the question for me so I will not go on Main Street

first aid has ones like theses if you think they will help https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N5AT5CT?ref_=ams_ad_dp_asin_3

My daughter also hates loud noise. When we were there in January we went to ride dumbo during the fireworks and it was very loud there. Most of the fireworks go off behind the dumbo area.

Ear plugs worked for my daughter when she was young. She did not like the fireworks without them.

We have been in the Carousel of Progress with fireworks before. It is not too bad, but you can still hear a few booms. Still, much better than being outside with the fireworks.

I have also brought fluffy earmuffs for my daughter when she was young. I think they were probably more comforting than noise-reducing, but they definitely helped. She was probably the only kid in MK in July wearing big, fluffy earmuffs (or as she called them, "earpuffs").

Ride Under the Sea. They let you stay on as long as you want and it's hard to hear the fireworks. We've done this many times.

Pirates, Haunted Mansion etc will make you get off and exit at the end of the ride so you'll have to walk out to the loud noise, only Under the Sea can you truly escape the noise for the full 20 minutes.

When my kids were younger they were super sensitive to the noise. Carousel of Progress was our go-to ride during the fireworks. And as you already thought of, the Dumbo playground area would be another indoor spot.

I would just stay out of the MK. Have them hang at the Contemporary arcade or something. My youngest is noise sensitive and takes ear protection to WDW but he cannot tolerate being IN a park that has fireworks going on. It's too much for him.m

If your daughter wants to SEE the fireworks, I suggest watching from Gasparilla Grill at the GF. It's a great spot, less crowded than the Poly beach, and if it's too much, she can go inside and get an ice cream or something.

Most kids that hate fireworks are just more sensitive with hearing and they actually love the lights, but had the booms. I would invest in some young ear protection which is pretty easy to find on amazon and other sources. If that doesnt' work then go more drastic and pick a spot where you can easily make it inside the emporium or similar.. The back of the park is closer, not further from the fireworks and will be louder and more in your face.

I disagree that leaving the park makes it quieter if someone is sensitive. It might be enough but it's still shaking the windows at poly.

Get him some ear plugs or noise muffling headphones. DO NOT get noise cancelling headphones - they do not work for sudden, loud noises like fireworks.

We used Baby Banz for our 2yo and they seem to have worked. He loved them!

Honestly I don't like loud noises and fireworks, but Wishes was not loud to me at all.

Agreed. I was walking past 7DMT to Dumbo during fireworks and seriously thought a shotgun had gone off--I swear I ducked. LOL Very loud back there.
