Yes you can. They even pipe in the music for it. I enjoyed just staying at my campsite and hearing the booms and every now and then one would light up the sky!
Locations for viewing are sometimes a tad bit full.
Go to the beach area to watch the electric water parade and fireworks. The carriage ride for fireworks also occurs seasonally- and stops at an awesome location- that is closer to the remote sound source.
PS- there are gators in the water- , the best time to view them is during the fireworks, because just enough of the water becomes visible to see their eyes and snouts...plus-it really freaks out folks who don't expect to see them.
We watched the New Years eve MK fireworks from the boat dock at the Fort. It was on of the most amazing fireworks shows I've ever seen. The count down for midnight in the sky left me speech less.
