Yeah! We just got the 1st too at 7 pm!!!! We're so excited!!

We tried every night that week, too, and nothing! Oh well, at least we got to go!:banana:

Thank you soooo much for this!!!

After having miserable CMs all day I called back AGAIN and got a WONDERFUL lady who searched the earlier time slots for me -- and we got January 2 at 7.20pm!! :goodvibes :cool1: :thumbsup2

I'm a bit concerned about why it's so early, but at least we have it booked at last!

I'm so happy right now! We'll see you there, Phil ;) :wizard: :thumbsup2

Hi Frances

I hope I get to see you too, look for two guys. That I guess might make us unique at this event?

I am planning on getting there early, I am not sure if there are assigned tables or not, and I remember the cast member saying something about standing at the Fireworks which is fine with me, as long as I am eating something chocolate flavored.

Now I must start my diet on Monday, with about a 83 day count down.

Hugs, Phil

Hey all,

We are just back home from WDW. We did the Dessert party on Sept. 24th. It was a nice experience. I don't know that I would do it again next year if it's still offered, since it was so expensive. However I am glad we did it this year! It gave our trip a special night that was a new experience for all of us. Also, my husband does not really care for fireworks and parades so we never get to go sit and wait for good spots for those. This gave me & my son an opportunity to have an excellent spot for the fireworks and my husband didn't complain about sitting for an hour because he was getting to stuff his face. :rotfl:

As far as some of the concerns I read here, we didn't have any problems at all. We had an excellent table on the second row back from the rail. We did decide to step to the rail to watch, as the roof would have blocked the highest of the fireworks, but we could have seen most everything from our table if we wished. The desserts did go faster than I anticpated, but most were refilled throughout the show. The chocolate strawberries I never caught again after my first plate, but my son swears he saw them being restocked. I guess my timing was just off. The little cheesecake cups were to die for! Like many here, I hated the mango shooters, but my son loved them. :confused3

We did have an assigned table, but it wasn't assigned until we checked in. We were told 8pm for checkin, but we were wondering Tomorrowland killing time until 8 and noticed a line forming in the Terrace at 7:30, so I got nervous and we went ahead and got in it. I am so glad we did! They went down the line at 7:50pm giving the wristbands and table assignments. I imagine those in the back of the line got the not-quite-so-good tables or maybe no assignment at all. We were seated at about 8:15. You could immediately rush the desserts as soon as you were escorted to your table.

Desserts were definitely restocked up until Wishes started. There were some of the less popular things left even at the end of Wishes. I was pretty absorbed in the show so didn't notice exactly what time they stopped restocking. But people were still able to get drinks and desserts even after the fireworks. We didn't eat any more, but we did hang out a bit at the table to let the crowd thin out on Main Street. At no time did we feel rushed to leave. The tip was definitely included in our original payment, so the CM who told me that on the phone was correct. No additional payment was needed at the party.

If anyone has any questions I didn't cover, feel free to ask!

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!! I'm so happy now. I was able to get the Wishes Dessert Party for 1/1. What a fantastic way to start the New Year off right. I can't thank you all enough! I too was trying for Dec 27-29 and nothing. I was going to keep trying, but now. Woohoo! :cool1:

Wow. :worship: :disrocks:

Thank you for your review, and especially mentioning the gratuity. I've been wondering about that.

Thank you so much for this review! Im so confused now though because a friend of mine who is a TA.....just cked things out for me about the reserved tbles and well she was told they were no longer going to do that! So Im wondering once Oct starts they are going to stop it? I was told when I got my ressies I would have a tble and I also only had to pay $23.42 per person now people are paying more.....and I was also told to show up an hr before Wishes and not earlier...my ressies are for 8:30! Now people are getting ressies for 7pm! Im not gonna stand in line for over 2hrs for some dessert that I have ressies for nor am I gonna stand the whole time....now I dont know what to do......but I do thank you for this great post! :thumbsup2

I hope they go back to the reserved tables! Our reservation is for 8:00 on 10/24 and since we called the day the extension through October was announced I was hoping we'd have a fairly good table....I really don't want to have to get there at 7:00 either....

just booked Wishes DP for 1/1 at 7pm as well!! this board is great!! Thanks for the info on January...the CM didn't think it was true but looked anyway! hurray!!

So the question is, when does Wishes start on 1/1 if you have a 7pm reservation? My CM couldnt bring up the wishes time? And 2, do we really need to line up around 6:30?

I just cancelled ours....I talked the CM and he agreed it is kind of a mess as to what is what or what is going to happen. As of now they are doing away with reserved tables and Im not standing in line at 7 for 830 ressies.....I will stand on Main St like we always do.....not worth it to me.....I wish they would have just stuck to a limit of people and not think of making a buck all the time! They just lost $140 from me.....oh well at least it opens up a spot for someone else....Thursday Dec 3rd......

I agree, it is very pricey. You can buy dinner for the whole family for the price. But I was willing to pay to be sure I had somewhere to sit. If I am going to have to line up an hour or more before the event, I might as well do it on Main St. I can send hubby to bring me desserts.
What are we paying for?? I am going to cancel, as well. :confused3

But they don't oversell this right? So even if we're not in line an hour in advance we're still going to get a table? I love the idea of sitting someplace away from the crowds, and if everyone gets a table I don't see a problem. They always have plenty of desserts and bring them out continuously. And everyone stands at the rail to watch the fireworks, so table placement isn't that important.

Or are they overselling, so if we don't stand in line we might not get a table? Anyone know details? :confused3

I wouldn't think they would oversell this event. By the sound of it, everyone looks to have enough space to sit and move about so I really don't think they are overselling. I agree with the comment about viewing the fireworks from the railing. It sounds like quite a few people do this, so if you don't have a prime table then so what??! right!

Okay, now I'm confused. The CM I spoke to told me specifically that the tables were reserved.

If they are over-booking this event and there is no guarantee of getting a table then I will also be cancelling. There is no way I am lining up 2 hours before. That's the whole reason we booked this -- to avoid hanging around and to avoid being in a hoard of people. If they are going to start cramming people in -- along with the price hike(!) -- then I will be really disappointed.

Disney really need to get this sorted out and give out some correct information.

Before I talked to a CM I talked to my friend who is a Disney TA...she called their "hot line"(apparently they have a number they can call that isnt known to those of us non TA's) to find out for me and she said the samething......the tables are not going to be reserved and yes people now have ressies before me...like I mentioned mine were for 830 and I was told to get there then cuz no one was gonna be allwed in any early than an hr before Wishes started....now Im told in order to get a table I need to line up with those that have 7pm ressies...who got theirs AFTER me!

Well I must have been under a rock because I just found out the extended this through December 29th (two weeks later than they announced it) and I can't get in for my dates.s .:sad2: Oh well . . You guys think it would be listed at 7 for the week of Thanksgving too?

I really think/hope that this is just an oversight on Disney's part. I really doubt that they would be booking people for three hours straight- the point is to watch Wishes. Why would people have 7 p.m. ressies for 10 p.m. Wishes? It just doesn't make sense. (Which we currently have booked- hoping that they revise it soon, though!)
People don't want to stick around for three hours. Or even worse- leave the party to come back only to NOT have a table and have to squish in with everyone else??

Hi everyone, We're here right now and went to the dessert buffet on Monday night.

It ran like clockwork, the CM's were WONDERFUL, and really a lot of fun...the desserts were spectacular and while it was a little chaotic when they first opened everything, it calmed down pretty quickly and was a lot of fun. We could have easily seen the fireworks from our table (we were on the terrace) but went to the rail because I wanted to get some pictures. The view of the castle was unbelievable!

They DID assign tables, they gave you the section you were in and told you to find your name. It was really easy.

As far as if we'd do it again? I'd do it every trip if it were still $17.00. but at $28., I'm really glad we did it once, but it's not worth that much, especially for big families. But that's just my opinion. (My 13yr. old didn't eat lunch and was saving room for tons of dessert, but even for him, the kid that has a hollow leg, he only ate about a plate and a half of goodies and was sugared out...)

So I hope that helps some of you...it was wonderful, but at around $30, I'd really think if it's worth that much for you...

:cutie:

I'm confused. I thought it was only extended to December 29. I called and was told that by a CM as well. However, I did read that someone booked the DP for 1/1. Can someone please fill me in??? Has anyone booked the DP for 12/31 yet? :confused3
