MK Firework Dessert Party

Just booked November 22, but still trying to decide is this is really something we want to do. It's a little on the price side.

I just called back after seeing you post and was able to get Nov 22 also - yeah! I don't know if the CM I talked earlier was doing something wrong or if there were cancellations, but we finally found something available.

Like you, we will think about this for a while since it is kind of pricey - $27.68 per adult. I am wondering if it is higher due to it being a Holiday week or are all the dates in Nov and Dec this new price.

Woohoooo! I just got November 6, which I have tried for the last two days of calling to get, third times a charm! I already had
the DP on November 1 which was not my first choice, so I cancelled that once he booked the 6th for me. I am starting to think it does have a lot to do with the time slot they look at because this CM, after a long silience, suddenly said oh wishes is at 8 pm that night, hold on while I check the 7pm time slot. So the way he said it made me think if they didn't put in the correct start time of the party that they might not even see that it's available. Just my observation!

That's the night I have booked for, I was given 7:20pm as check-in time.

BTW, your signature photo is lovely.

Caron

Thank you.
It's the little princess's birthday, so we're very excited to get that night.
Not to mention it's the only night with Wishes before 10pm our whole trip.

But the CM told me 7pm.
What time will they allow you to start filling your plate?
It's going to be hard to hold big brother back for very long.

our experience was that you can start filling your plate IMMEDIATELY!! so, as soon as you get let in/shown to your table (assuming they are still assigning tables... there have been mixed reports) you can drop your stuff and run directly to the dessert buffet!!! :)

Should I bother to call back and add my DD's birthday celebration info to my ressie?

I just realized that I did ot tell the CM it was her birthday. I was so excited to get that day after trying for 4 days in a row.

Do theyu do anything in particulare?
Is it really worth the hold time?

During MVMCP I was told that the Christmas parade starts at 8:15 by 2 CM's and 8:30 by another. We have a 8:50 pm ADR for the dessert party. The second parade starts at 10:30 with Wishes at 9:30. So should we watch the 1st parade and dart over to the dessert party or do we try and get to Main ST. for the 2nd parade (where I really want to see the parade from). My fear is that Main St. will be too crowded already to get a good seat on Main St. if we are at the dessert party. Any thoughts?

I just called a cple hrs ago and got a ressie for all 6 of us for Dec 3rd......the dates the CM said were available (Nov 28th - Dec 5th is when we will be there) were all for the MVMCP only.....so if you dont have tixs for that you wont be able to make ressies for the dessert party......

I just booked Wishes Dessert Party for Dec. 3rd this morning. I had a terrible time finding a ressie because I was checking all my dates, except the MVMCP night. So on a whim I told them I had MVMCP tix on the 3rd so they could check avail. on that date also...and alas...success!:thumbsup2

Look for us...I will be with my little Minnie Mouse;) (My DD7 is going to the MVMCP decked out in the cutest Minnie dress)

I have a ressie for the 25th and one for the 29th. The 25th is a non MVMCP night and was more expensive than the 29th during the christmas party. No noe could give me a reason, but I think you may be onto something here. I was thinking we were being given a break for booking during the party, but it may very well be a holiday premium.

Has anyone with the 7:00-7:30 ressies on a 10:00 wishes night heard anything more?? are they going to fix it in the computers??

Just returned from WDW and attended the party on Monday Sept. 21st. It was great! Our table was right next to the railing and also right next to the dessert bar. It was unbelievably hot and humid that night, but we had a great time despite the heat. Enjoy everyone! If you have any questions feel free to ask, I might try and post pictures after my husband downloads them off the camera.

Glad to hear you had a great time! :thumbsup2 I'd love to see the pictures once you get them downloaded.

A few questions:

1) Was your table assigned?

2) Did they do a good job of keeping the buffet stocked? Did they keep restocking it throughout the party or did they stop halfway through?

3) Did they leave any remaining food out after Wishes was over?

4) Were the desserts tasty?

My family and I are going in a few weeks and we can't wait to stuff our faces with yummy desserts!!!

A few questions:

1) Was your table assigned?
no. open seating

2) Did they do a good job of keeping the buffet stocked? Did they keep restocking it throughout the party or did they stop halfway through?
Not great. Big rush and only some items were refreshed. So when some items (strawberries come to mind) were not refreshed

3) Did they leave any remaining food out after Wishes was over?
Nope. Was cleared during Wishes

4) Were the desserts tasty?
Everyone has different tastes. The pasteries were just generic, frozen stuff and not very good. Couple of the other items were ok. Basically you pay for a good seat and so so dessert.

Overall it was worth the money for us because we got decent seats and avoided the crush of people. The food was a very distant second..

second parade is usually not as crowded as the first because those with younger children tend to leave around then! If the second parade starts at 10:30 the first one will start at 8:30......

When I booked our DP we are going to MVMCP on Dec 3rd so I went and booked the DP for the same night....we are only paying $23.42/person.....so Im not sure when they raised the prices and for what reason.......

I'm still trying to decide if I should book:confused3. We're going to MVMCP on Dec. 15, but having dinner first at 1900 Park Fare at 4:30. I don't know if we'll be too full to appreciate it, or if we want to spend that much tme away from the party. Does anyone who has done the dessert party during MNNSHP have an opinion?

Hmmm....these are the dates showing a "holiday" increase:

December 16, 2008 - January 3, 2009
April 5 - April 18, 2009
May 24 - July 11, 2009

The difference IS equivalent to the Holiday pricing, but all of the dates do not add up. I can't find dates after those listed above, I would assume they would be similar this year.:confused3

Can anyone else who has gone recently please comment on their experiences? The reply above is a real bummer...and contradicts things I've read on other threads (like the assigned seating...I just read a reply from someone in another thread who went 9/18 and said they had assigned seats...so I'm confused :confused3)

I called at my first availability to make the call, based on the 90 plus 10 days window when staying onsite at a Disney Resort.

The cast member could not find anything about the Wishes Dessert Party for December, and wasn't sure what time the Party would be held at, if it did exist.

I asked for a supervisor and after about 5 minutes, the supervisor came to the conclusion if he was not seeing anything in the system, then the event was sold out, but maybe I should call back and see if there are cancellations.

I am wondering if I got the right cast members to speak to, or is the event sold out in its last 3 days currently planned (Dec 27 28 29th).

I am arriving on December 27th and today was my first chance at December 27th reservations plus 10 days. I admit it is possible that those who had arrival dates of December 19th could have already gotten the last available dates.

Anyone else having problems getting access now to the last 3 days of this event? (Dec 27 28 29th)?

Anyone have any advice?

Thanks,

Phil
