MK Firework Dessert Party

It was great reading the review. I can't wait to go still. As far as the crowd at the end we will just hang out for a little.

I was there last night too! :) Just got back to Jersey and starting to adjust to the "real world!" At least I go back in less than 2 months! :)

I did love the location, just beautiful! Our little, (very little for 4 people) was the very last table on the tomorrowland side right up front by the railing.

I'm not a huge fan on the little fancy desserts but found much to my liking.. we all LOVED the little mango shooters! they were done very cleverly with a very large mouthed straw. It was yummy, never had anything like it before! I also really like the pistaschio creme brule. Also very different. I do agree about the strawberries, so beautiful but the chocolate was kinda waxy and the berry was mushy inside. A real let down. I like the iced tea, mine was ice cold and it was nice to have filtered water! Way too hot for hot tea or coffee IMHO in there!

The only thing I really didn't care for was the check in process. We were told to arrive 15 minutes prior, we did that and then were kind of brushed off to go stand in line and wait. Well, we waited for about 20 minutes and did not get in until a bit late. Not a big deal but I considered this a luxury type of event for the money, I know it's new but they still seem like they are struggling to main stream the check in process. Once inside, the staff couldn't have been nicer.

I guess I was lucky on the way out, I was the normal "sea of people" leaving the park at closing but we stayed to the left side of main street, (as you exit) and went right down to the busses and got on the first bus to POP. I have been stuck in that wall of people clear down to the buses some years to the point that you can't even see the signs to know if you got to your own bus stop. We were marveling at how easy it was last night. I guess we got lucky. We only waited about 10 minutes after the fireworks to leave too. I'm glad I did it once but I don't know if I would plop down $80 for dessert each trip. It's worth it to try it though. :)

The price sounds right to me (I now it was $19.something a person). The days that seem to be a problem are the Sundays in August - if you read some of the websites about it, it shows that the Dessert thing isn't happening on the the 9th, 16th, 23rd. People are saying those days they're running a buffet dinner in the restaurant (Tomorrowland Noodle) instead. However some people are still being charged the dessert price by clueless CM's. The times should be a lot different - dessert times should be like 7:45/8pm (9pm wishes) or an hour later for 10pm wishes. Dinner times were frequently given in the 5-7:30 range.

If you're booked for any of those nights above, I would double and triple check (especially the 23rd, which seems to be the one they're booking double for - the other nights seems like they don't show up on the dessert list at all so no one is getting booked incorrectly for them). If it's not the 23rd, I'm sure you're fine!

Not sure where the information came from re: no party on Sunday evenings. We are booked for Sunday evening, August 9, and after reading the above post, I checked with the IPO at the Polynesian who made the reservation for me and they have assured me the dessert party is happening that night. Also, they have booked the other Sunday evenings in August for many of their guests as they have no information to the contrary.

Could you stay at your table for Wishes or did you need to get a spot at the railing? How was the viewing for Spectro?

TIA

I would call the restaurant directly. Check with Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station. They are offering dinner on Sundays in August, not the dessert party. August 9 may not be effected because free dining does not start until the 16th, but I am not sure. I would call to make sure. They called me only because I was sending in allergy information,so they found me. She said she was nervous others may be in the same situation because we were not on her list but when she pulled up my reservation, it said Wishes Dessert Party. Very confusing, but try to clear it up before you go on vacation. If you have other questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Here is a link to another MK "who's going when" thread:

If you look at it, there are at least a couple other people listed as going on the 9th, so you may be correct that the dinners start the following week with free dining. There is no one listed for the 16th or 23rd. I personally would call the restaurant directly and Disney dining at least once just to make sure, but it sounds like you may be okay!

Unfortunately Spectro was cancelled last night because there was a lot of lighting and thunder in the immediate area, although luckily the storm never came to be in the form of rain. Wishes went on as scheduled. You may stand at the railing or sit if you can see. Most stood by the rail. Only no-no is pulling a chair up to the rail, it's standing only. Hope this helps! :)

who did you send your allergy info to? my son is peanut/tree nut allergic and i'm a little nervous...

You can have it noted on your dining reservations. The CM putting the note on should offer you a direct phone number for each place (although maybe not anymore, they seem to be phasing that out a bit). You can also ask for the current special diets email address. That is how I did it last year and it worked out well. The email address changes often because it gets posted places like this and then they get too much spam, but they were happy to give it to me over the phone last year.

My son is also allergic to tree nuts, even trace amounts cause a bad reaction for him. We have been 8 times in the last 5 years and he has never once had a reaction. They always send a chef out to talk with us (remind them when you get seated) and they make him special entree's or just cook them in the separate area. The only place I still worry is quick service. They will send you a list of all the safe choices, it changes all the time so do not go off of anything you see posted here- contact Disney and have them send you the list.

They have really good packaged cookies and brownies that are nut free.

::TOTALLY OFFTOPIC!::

i see you are from LI also... looks like we're going the week after you (maybe overlap?) and i've already started packing (okay, true confession... i never totally unpacked from our feb trip! the disney shirts got washed and put right back in!)
:cool1:

lol! just did the same thing! washed my "dis" shirts and put them right back in my suitcase for September! along with all my other dis stuff like lanyards, spray bottle, etc!

I have a big problem. I booked for 4 (actually 3) the 2 yr old doesnt count. But my daughter (the 2 yrs old mother) is going. I booked for the 25th of August and its sold out. I tried to add her on but they couldn't. They even tried to check to see if he could sit on her lap. I was told no. I don't want to cancel. So should I show up anyway and see what happens? I would even sacrifice them going and me going elsewhere.

I am so excited, someone must have canceled and we were able to get in!!!!!!!! I had been calling every day to try to get this, I love desserts!!!!

BBLady,

What day were you able to get? Just called for the 25 and still no cancellations to get my daughter in:mad:

Congrat's 2 u. We will be there on the 28th and I can't wait.

See you there, we got the 28th!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I was trying ANY day from the 21st of August thru the 30th. (Couldnt remember what date the buffet ended so I kept telling all the cms thru the 30th!)
