MK Experts: Help us recreate this picture

17 years ago, our then 3yo had a temper tantrum and threw a fit because we were getting ready to leave MK. As he was sitting on the walkway, crying his eyes out, of course, I had to take a picture of the tears flowing at "The Happiest Place on Earth". We're going back in June, so we want to recreate it, now that he's 21. I have a rough idea of the area, but not exact. Can anyone pick up enough clues to help?

So here's the picture:


I think it's in the area circled in red...

But I'm not positive. It's obviously near a smoking section (that was in place in 2007, so may be gone), looks like steps down, and another walkway toward the Castle.
Google street view isn't helping me, but of course things have changed in 17 years.

The hub is pretty different now that it was in 2007, but you've got about the right area there. Look for the correct angle on the castle and that should be about right.

Yeah....the steep triangle roof entrance on the castle should drive the location.

Agreed. Looks like near, in front of the Plaza Restaurant area. Old smoking area, near the water that used to be there.

Neat picture, Sam, nice to recreate. Would be neat to see.

We had a family breakfast beforehand at O'hana and he thought we'd go back to the room before doing the picture.

But, yea, I agree.

We recreated a couple back in 2015. It's been long enough I might have to do them again.

We did something similiar
My DD21 hated OHana when she was 3yrs old - she was miserable the entire time.
This year she asked to return and had a different opinion.
