We plan on spending a day park hopping during our stay between MK and Epcot to take advantage of EMH and the food and wine festival. Since we will be renting a car, I wanted to see if anyone could share any insight on what I thought (and hope!) to be a good plan in terms of parking and park hopping. I was thinking of spending the first half of the day (RD) at MK finishing a few rides and then hopping over to Epcot the remainder of the night. Does it make sense to park at Epcot that morning and take the monorail from Epcot to MK, so we will just be able to hop in the car after Epcot as oppose to parking at MK, hopping on monorail to Epcot and back? We also have an PPO ADR, so wasn't sure if the Epcot lot is open before 8am on a non-EMH day?

The alternative would be to go from the MK lot to the Epcot lot (we are staying on site for the first time, so no parking fees finally!) but I feel like we may be wasting park time doing that. Any ideas and suggestions would be appreciated! :car::thanks:

I personally would just park at the Transportation area and stay there. Take the monorail from MK to Epcot and then take it back to the Transportation Center at the end of teh day. You should get a good parking spot at the Transportation Center because of your PPO, and you may not get one at Epcot later in the day.

I'd just drive. If you leave your car at TTC you'll have to come back for it after Epcot. If you park at Epcot you'll have to travel to MK then back to Epcot. I'd just drive to MK then drive to Epcot. Then you'd have the car there at Epcot when you're done.

It really wouldn't take longer driving rather than taking the monorail. If anything maybe a 5 min difference. I think it would take more time in the long run parking at Epcot, monorail to MK, then monorail back to epcot

why bother using the car at all?
take a bus to MK.
take the monorail to epcot.
take a bus back to your resort.

if you insist on using the car then just drive from MK to epcot.

Especially with a PPO breakfast at MK, your best bet is to simply take Disney transportation. EP to TTC to MK before MK RD would be a nightmare IMHO and TTC to MK is not so great either. The Disney bus from your resort will drop you off as close as you can get to the MK entrance - easy peasy getting to your PPO breakfast. Then just take the monorail from MK to TTC to EP. Bus back to your resort at the end of the night. Or, if you want to get out of EP faster, exit out IG, go to BC and uber or cab back to your resort.

I agree with the previous posters. Use Disney transportation. It is so much more convenient getting to MK using the bus if you are staying on site. You get dropped off right to the MK entrance. Much easier than driving, parking, trams, then ferry, monorail, or bus from TTC to MK.

If you do decide to drive I would suggest going back to your car and driving from MK to Epcot so that your car is at Epcot at the end of the night.

Ah, I didn't know the resort buses would drop you off at the entrance to MK! I was expecting a drop off at TTC and having to take the monorail or ferry over just as if you were driving. If we opt to use Disney transportation and forgo the car, how much time do we need from Pop to MK via bus for a 8am PPO breakfast at BOG? I was hoping to get there earlier and be let in at 7:45 exactly (hopeful!) so we can get a few Main Street pics before running over. It's just me and DBF, so planning to sprint to BOG after pictures unless BOG is that far from Main Street?

This was one of my main concerns about buses and having more flexibility with a car. Obviously now knowing the buses drop you off at the entrance, it seems like a wash between car and buses now since car means parking and hopping on the monorail or ferry as well...

Be at the bus stop a little bit before 7:00.

Ahhh, the joys and perils of a rental car. We have done WDW both with and without a rental.... The big pro is come and go as you wish. The big con is if you don't use the car, it feels like a waste of money.

So, my suggestion for your question is this.... I would park the car at MK for your visit and then take the car to EPCOT when you decide to go. You are staying on property and parking is free. No matter what you do, there is time wasted in either waiting for a bus or parking your car. At least parking your own car you are at your own pace. That is my two cents.
