We will be at Epcot one night of our vacation in July and we are planning on watching Illuminations and then my wife will take my daughter back to the Boardwalk and I am going to try to go to MK for EMH that night. I am thinking that Illuminations will be over around 930 and then I can take the monorail over to MK and then just take the bus back to The Boardwalk. EMH at MK go until 1am according to the current Disney calendar and I am assuming I will get to MK between 1015 and 1030.

Is it worth it to go over the MK for about two and a half hours worth of rides? In other peoples experience, will the wait times for headliners like SDMT, Splash, Space and BTMR be short enough to make the trip to MK worth it at 1030?

I would like to get at least six or more rides in to make it worth the trip over there.

Sounds great to me.

Generally the later the EMH, the shorter the lines will get. If you're committed to staying until that last hour, I think it would definitely be worth it.

Illuminations is closer to 15 minutes than 30. The closer to the front of the park you watch Illuminations, the quicker you can get to the monorail, there will likely be a lot of people heading there. Check when MSEP/Wishes are that night for when you arrive at MK.

As for rides, I would guess Splash and Thunder lines will get shorter earlier. Space line might stay long for a while. But with no FP return during evening EMH, lines move faster. Assume 7DMT will stay busy until near park close. Note that posted wait times are often overinflated near park close. On last trip posted 7DMT standby wait 40 minutes, we actually waited 10 minutes.
