I just booked a MK cruise for July 2. Everything else was booked, from June 28- July 3rd, I guess i got lucky, but the CM was really nice and she just kept checking for me, and she told me that all cruises for July 4 are 350.00! and they start booking tomorrow.
Has anyone done the MK fireworks? It sounds nice, and it leaves from the contemporay marina, and that's where we are staying. Same rules apply, no guarentees seeing the fireworks, and she told me to call back June 1 because the fireworks schedule isn't in the computer yet. She's assuming the fireworks will be at 9pm, so the cruise is booked for 8
Also, how much do you tip the captain?
Thanks

YIKES. I suppose they increase the price because July 4th is a holiday? I didn't know about this.

I've never experienced the MK fireworks. Hopefully one of our veterans can tell you about it.

I have done the MK fireworks cruise twice and LOVED it both times. We tipped the captain $30 for a $120 cruise. Our capitain was really, really good.

We did the MK fireworks cruise on our recent trip. We left from WL and toured Bay Lake then into the Seven Seas Lagoon and around it from CR to GF to Poly then back to sit in full view of the Castle and fireworks. It was about an hour and well worth it. The music isn't too loud, though, but the overall experience was great. Our captain was friendly enough, but I felt he almost asked for a tip at the end which kind of put me off.

We did this as a suprise in Dec for my DH's birthday. We also left from the contemporary. It was wonderful. Our captain was on the college program and was great. It was kind of chilly so she got us a blanket. We cruised Bay Lake which was beautiful, dark and quiet, reminded us of our lakes at home. The stars were out. We also cruised 7 Seas Lagoon both before and after the fireworks. Whereever we wanted to go. The fireworks were beautiful, we could hear the music just fine, and I really enjoyed being away from the crowd.

I booked early on and they adjusted my time by calling me so we wouldn't miss the fireworks as they knew that is what we wanted.
Our captain initially refused our tip. We had two teenage daughters with us and they enjoyed each other. In fact gave hugs as we were leaving. I insisted on giving her the tip as she had added to our enjoyment, but she was very reluctant. These college program students aren't paid much and I wanted to do it. She seemed quite grateful in the end.
I think I tipped $20.00, but I don't really remember that part.

$350 is for the second MK fireworks cruise on the 4th. It includes champagne and cake. Maybe even some other things. The first fireworks cruise is still $120.

I called right at 7 but I was on hold for 10 minutes. I hung up because I figured there was no chance after 10 minutes.

$350 for an hour!! Holy Fireworks!!

beachbunny-you said that there are two cruises....are there going to be two fireworks presentations on july 4th?

That's what I was told - and they've taken ressies for two cruises. If they don't have two, they'll be a lot of disappointed people.
