Our last trip to WDW we didn't eat at MK once for table service. We instead at our resort (Boatwright's) and went to the Luau at Poly. What do you suggest at MK (casual dining)? We're not interested in character dining/buffets. Thanks! :flower3:

We enjoy lunch at LTT. The Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake is so yummy.

If you are looking for counter service, our favorite is Peocs Bill's.

Liberty Tree or The Plaza are decent casual sit down table service restaurants.

My vote is for LTT. Cost for Disney is reasonable. For lunch, the Pot Roast is my fav as well as the ooey gooey toffee cake as mentioned. Kiddos like the turkey meal. Their dinner is served family style, which is really nice. They bring bowls of ham, turkey, potatoes, dressing, and other "normal" food. They replenish the bowls. So it's kinda like a buffet where you get choices, but it's sit down. Good choice for picky eaters.

The Plaza is great food for the price.
Liberty Tree Tavern is another good choice but check menus first at allears.net

I'm not sure what you mean by casual dining. If you mean non-signature TS, then I echo the recommendations for LTT dinners. I don't find the Plaza a good value: you can get sandwiches or burgers at many CS places. Cosmic Ray's, Pecos Bill's or Columbia Harbour House are great for CS meals.

If you want to try a meal outside, but close to MK then you can't go wrong with Kona Cafe, Grand Floridian Cafe, or the Wave.

IMHO, the best TS at MK isn't at MK it is a quick monorail ride away at Kona Cafe.

Yeah, the table service in the Magic Kingdom leaves a lot to be desired. Honestly, you'll find better quality and value outside of the main gates in the monorail hotels. I'll echo what the previous posted said and recommend the Kona and Grand Floridian Cafes.

Just to clarify....Liberty Tree only has the "all you can eat" at dinner. At lunch, you order off the menu. We liked our lunch at Liberty Tree very much.

To go elsewhere.

We enjoy Crystal Palace but that's character dining, and beyond that, there are many great choices at the MK resorts:

1) The Wave - A short walk from the front of the MK, in the Contemporary. This is perhaps the most underrated restaurants at WDW, these days.

2) Whispering Canyon - An enjoyable boat ride from the front of the MK (or a short bus ride). Always a lot of fun. A very Disney experience.

3) Grand Floridian Cafe - Another underrated option.

We really enjoy the Whispering Canyon at Ft. Wilderness-especially if you've been bombarded all day by people at the park--it's a nice departure. It isn't that far away, and the lunch crowd is relatively small given it's proximity to the Magic Kingdom. We made it a fun little break for my niece by taking the boat and just having a little down time. She loved the "horsey" they gave her and the server was fantastic. I'd take that any day over the hoopla at the Crystal Palace or Tony's. I'll be interested to see what happens when "Be Our Guest" opens at the Magic Kingdom.....
