We are heading down in 10 days, and I was thinking about taking my 2 boys to the shop and having them do the color. My question is my boys both have very short buzz cuts, are they able to do the color on that short of hair and does it look ok?? Also how much does it cost?

Thanks

Yes, it is a colored gel, so they can do it on any length hair. My boys got it as part of a haircut, so I don't know how much it costs alone. I remember reading it somewhere, and I'm sure it was under $10, but I don't remember exactly.

With very short hair, ie buzz cut, I've seen Mickey "spray painted" with a stencil on the back of the head. :earseek:

What about for a young girl? I know I see lots of photos of boys. Has anyone had there daughters hair cut and colored with the paint there? And about how much did it cost? She is due for a haircut. But im sure if we could wait till our trip it would make it more special.

I took my daughter to the baber shop in June and had her hair cut there. Micheal ( i dont think that is how he spells it) did a fantastic job feathering her long hair and trimming up the bangs. He added lots of mickey confetti in her hair ( enough so the bathtub had some in it after her shower that night) I believe the cost was about $14. I must say it was well worth it , especially since we got to participate in a video that the main st Cms were making to send to the troops in Iraq. Micheal is a fantastic barber and highly recomend him .

we didn't get our girls hair cut, just the color and pixie dust. I think it was $5 each. It didn't matter how long their hair is, my dd's have short cuts but the girls in front of us had long straight hair and it was the same price. Only problem we had was there are only 2 barbers there at a time. One of them, an older man, refused to put more then one color in the kids hair. The girl in front of us had her heart set on rainbow colors for her birthday. The female barber volunteered to do it and also did the majority of the other girls in line who all wanted rainbow after seeing the first girl's hair.

Awesome. thank you for the replys! I cant wait to do this for my daughter. She will love it. :Pinkbounc

And I just found out we need to spend a few more days out in orlando during christmas vacation. Im heart broken! NOT. Mickey here we come! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Hi. We're going to MK tomorrow... please tell me about the hair stuff for girls... can I do color and/or pixie dust (what is that exactly?) without getting her hair cut? Thank you!

I was planning on getting pixie dust only in my DD's hair princess: Does that cost anything? $5 seems ok for the gel & pixie dust.

Thank-you for the information for the little boys. I am glad to hear that they will be able to get something done if they want.

lorilori,

Thats what we did for our girls, no haircut, just color and dust. The color is gel and the dust is metallic mickey head confetti and other bits of colored paper. It was $5 in Sept.

PaMom001- I don't know about the dust only. I think I've read where others have gotten it free. Everyone there when I was there was getting gel or a cut along with it. The cm did give some dust for free to a mom who's 2 yr old backed out, but she had 2 other girls that got the color/dust that she paid for.

Thanks so much for the info! Just got the kids in bed after a busy day swimming and our first visit to DisneyQuest... now planning MK first thing Sunday morning since it's so crazy busy everywhere now and hoping Sunday will be quieter...

What is the least-busy time of day to get this done? Or is it crowded all day with the limited # of barbers?

DD (then 4) got her first hair cut at the barber shop last year. I think the total for the cut and hair gel was about $17, $20 total with tip.

If I just want to get the gel/dust for DD8, should I style herhair beforehand or do they so this as they put in the gel/dust?????

Thank you

That is just totally adorable!

My boys had this done two years ago and they are begging to go back this year, though this time we are just doing gel and pixie dust, they needed haircuts too badly to wait until we leave.

No one answered yet so I will ask again, is there a less busy time for this and what time do they open?
