MK after 5K?

I am considering signing us up for the 5K in January, but I want to make sure we can get to MK at opening time (9am). If the 5K starts at 6:30 at Epcot, can we just hop on the monorail after the race to the TTC and then transfer to the MK monorail? Will the monorail at Epcot be open that early after the race? Will we have enough time for this?

In general, the Epcot loop of the monorail starts at 8AM. The local resort monorail service starts at 7. So assuming you are not spending 120 minutes on a 5k you should be fine I think that you really have time to go back to a resort shower and still hit the rope drop.

One thing that you did not ask and I want to throw out... Monorail service WILL NOT be available for transportation TO the 5k. You will need to either take race transportation or drive. So for those who read the first paragraph and think cool, I will monorail to the start of the 5K, you cannot.
