MK 430 Close January 27

Debating making this an MK day! Just can't decide!

We went on this exact same day in 2023. It was so empty! I did get LLMP and it was a joke.

Will you please expand on this?

If you can remember, I would be interested in knowing more specifics about your experience. Were LLs not needed at all, all day? In the wait time graphs linked earlier, some of the waits were 20+ minutes mid-day.

I am hoping to do one circuit around the park early with all standby, then use LL for a more relaxed second ride on our favorites on lap 2. We have been to the parks before so we want this day to be ride focused rather than atmosphere appreciation.

I know we will be moving quickly. This plan for our MK day is my current motivation while I exercise

We switched our plans to include this day as well. We are traveling with a toddler and an infant. Banking on getting there at rope drop and making it a full day.... then an early dinner at Ohana. Given our circumstances I think an early evening would be good for us, and then spend some time back at the pool and resort. We did not buy hoppers.... but thinking about it... as we could easily hop to Epcot. I also am still budgeting for lightening lane. I figure might as well... We doc have one other MK day later in the trip in which we will watch the nightime parade and castle show. Do you know if they still do the afternoon parade that day?

There will still be an afternoon parade that day as the park is open until 4:30. Not sure what time the parade will run so you will need to monitor the calendar until they publish the time.

You mentioned possibly going to the pool in the evening. Historically in Jan temps drop quite a bit in the evening to it may not be conducive to swimming or, the pool may not even be open.

We often visit in Aug and find on party days we don’t ‘need’ LLMP as attraction lines are short. I would anticipate the same on this day based on historical calendars. I would be more inclined to save for LLMP for your second MK day when crowds will be more ‘normal’.

When I say you may not ‘need’ LLMP on this day it’s because on some attractions the standby line is almost a walk-on for some attractions. We’ve walked onto small world and right up to where the line meets the LL merge.

It’s all personal choice, just sharing some thoughts and our experiences.

When the park closes this early crowds are usually very low and wait times low making having LLs not really needed. We have found this to be true for party days too.

When we did Epcot on a day it closed at 5:30pm we did Guardians a few times at 20-25 minute waits. We did not buy LLMP and glad we didn't. Everything had such short waits.

I guess I worry about it being "sold out"
Even if crowds are predicted low..

I'm curious what the premier pass will cost this day.....

So I guess I'm debating if we pay and book when our window opens for this day or hope for the truely low crowds.

The other way to view this is if we book LL and the crowds are low we could have a truely ride filled day.

We will be there that day also...we chose it because of the early closure.

We were there 2 years ago when the MK closed early for a cast appreciation party in Jan. Those with tickets for only one park per day do not usually go to a park on an early closure day. We had park hopper tickets, so we went to MK that day. There are still lines, but they were doable without any lightning lane passes. We got on all the rides we wanted in reasonable time. We went to Epcot that evening, It was so crowded, because of the MK being closed. By the way, they did a special firework show for the cast at the MK that evening. So my advice is to go on an early closure day, especially if you have park hoppers.

I went in 2023 and 2024. In 2023, it was really quiet, almost everything was a walk on. We regretted leaving around lunch, so we went back in 2024. It was very busy, more than a normal January day. We did not go in 2025 but it seems it was pretty quiet, so we will try it again this year. I dont think we will be buying LL since in 2023 it was absolutely not worth it.

The multi pass is $32 per person- compared to $35 the day before and the ILL for tron and SDMT is a dollar cheaper... lol!

What I do find interesting is that the premier pass is $419 per person for the 27th while the day before its 399.

Who knows what any of that means lol! I'm still debating if we buy for the 27th.

Well, now that it's less than a week away, I've decided-it's going to "feels like" about 30 degrees at 8:30, and be below 50 degrees until about noon. My body's used to a climate that's even warmer than Orlando, so that's too cold for me! Guess y'all will have to have the DIS meet without me. I won't get to the park until around noon.

Considering it's -30 at home (currently on flight to Orlando!!) this will be a heat wave for us!

We did decide to go this day. Was able to get a CRT early entry reservation too for that morning.
