Ok: I need someone to tell me that I have planned this correctly please: I just split our DVC stay and plan on using the regular dining plan for the first 5 nights of our stay 11/20-11/25. On the last night we will have the deluxe plan so that I can use 1 credit on that day and have two carry over to the next day for our Candlelight Package on 11/26.

Here's my worry-if we eat according to my plan we will have one counter service left over to use on 11/25 for lunch and then use one credit from the deluxe plan for dinner and have the other two carry over for our CP packageon 11/26. Will the one leftover counter service credit carry over to the 25th or will I accidentally use one of our deluxe credits to pay for our lunch on 11/25? I hate to let the counter sevice go to waste-but I also don't want to use one of our deluxe credits to pay for a burger!!:scared1: Any advice greatly appreciated!!!

I don't believe your credit will carry over to the next day.

Any dining credits you have left expire at midnight the night you check out.

So it would be my understanding that when you check out of the first "stay" you have until midnight to use that credit.
It wouldn't roll over to the next day or the next "split" stay.
You will lose it.

Does that make sense?

So-if I have the deluxe plan for the night of the 25th-the credits won't roll over until the 26th?

Your credits expire at midnight on the day you check out so yes your credits from the 25 (and all of you your first reservation credits) are good on the 26th until midnight.

If you have 2 reservations they should be put the credits on seperate cards, but then I don't know how that works.

Is there a way they can "swipe" your room key so that you know how many credits are available-that would be handy!:goodvibes

Yes, you can have them check it (probably anywhere they sell food or your concierge). I did that at Pop's store to check out how many snack credits I had left.

it you "check out" of the first plan on 11/25, you have until midnight on the 25th (I think of it as having the old credits until 11:59 PM on 11/25 to keep it least confusing, lol.) to use up the credits from the first plan. When you "check in" for the 2nd part of your split stay...on 11/25 for the night of 11/25 on Deluxe, you will have 3 meal credits, 2 snacks & a travel mug per person which can be used anytime after you check into the split stay on 11/25 through midnight of 11/26 (the day you check out of 2nd part of the stay.)

Get a new card for the new plan so you can keep them straight! Use the old card at lunch time on the 11/25 to use that last counter service credit. Or if it would be even easier, don't "check into" the 2nd plan until after lunch on 11/25. Then you can use your new card with the deluxe plan to pay for 1 TS dinner. You can then use the snack credits for breakfast on 11/26 and your 2 TS for your CProc. meal.:thumbsup2

Let's clarify something.

What are the dates of the first reservation?
And the second?

Also, are you planning on checking out of the first hotel before checking into the second?
(and is it possible to be checked into 2 reservations at the same time????)

I didn't think this was possible.

If I understand correctly you are using the DDP on the first dates of your stay and only staying 1 night under another ressie to get DxDDP so you can use that credit towards CP package?

catne said it better than I did - I got the dates mixed (thought your 1st reservations was for the 25th too, but rereading it see that the 25th is the 2nd reservation), go by what she said with them expiring at midnight on the 25th for the 1st reservation.

I know this is confusing-DVC has started allowing members to "split" their stay so that the dining plan can be added as needed. So, here is the plan: check in on Saturday 11/20 with regular dining plan. On the night of 11/25 it is considered a new DVC reservation (hopefully, we won't have to switch rooms) for one night with the deluxe dining plan. We would use one credit on 11/25 for the Fantasmic Dinner Package and the two remaining credits on 11/26 for the CP.

I think the above will work. My question is about the one counter service credit I will have left over on the first stay-will I be able to use it on 11/25 without risking them using one of our credits from the deluxe plan. It might just be safer/easier to pay out of pocket for that lunch on 11/25...

No it should be fine. Maybe do as someone suggested and get new cards for the 2nd part of your stay just to keep them straight.
