I will not stay long - the last time I was here many moons ago the thread was locked, then deleted, and points were flying everywhere like shrapnel from a pineapple hand grenade. I have not read back so I have no idea what you are discussing; so I will proceed to hijack the thread temporarily.

I turned 35 this month but I don't feel a day over 60. Most of my colleagues at this firm are pompous morons who chase their secretaries around the office. I have been propositioned by two of the other lawyers wives. I was a prosecutor for years, I am not used to this highfalutin lifestyle that corporate law brings. All of my friends are cops or other prosecutors. I feel like a square peg in a round hole.

Oh no. I'm not done whining yet.

My body has gone on strike it seems; I have been plagued with numerous minor aches, pains, and injuries. I couldn't move my neck this morning when I first woke up. My shoulders hurt, my hamstring is acting up again, and I may need surgery to repair an old knee injury from college. I haven't been to the gym in a week, but I still wake up every day at 4:30 AM (I should be back to the gym late next week).

Other than that, I'm a happy camper. It's great to be home again, my little girl falls asleep every night with her head on my shoulder. When you think about it, little things like work problems and my old body don't amount to a hill of dust. A man's life should not be judged by his bank account or his bulging biceps. I know my girls are happy, and so I'm happy too.

Resume discussing boys or records or whatever you girls were giggling about.

Sounds like you need to see a doctor for all those aches and pains. Even though we know it's the nurses who do all the work.

Your girls are happy? That's wonderful. That's the most important thing. (I think serving chocolate cake keeps the girls even happier)


*sigh* BABY PJ: A record was a circular black disc that you put on a thing called a record player (genius of them to call it a record player, wasn't it?) It would spin around and play music. Sort of like cd's now, except you could hear clicks and pops. Of course I barely remember them in my infancy, seeing as how I'm not as old as SOME people.
