LOL! PJ, I think those webpages meant beef as well. Actually, I was amazed at the number of "roast beed" hits I got when I Googled it -- seems to be a common error.

First of all, the DIS just crashed for me for a second there. Strange. Yet here I am once again.

Second of all, I will shamelessly admit that I didn't get that. If you had just kept going along with the beed thing I would have kept believing beed was a type of meat. Gullible? Maybe.

Third of all, I just finished a paper that isn't due until tomorrow night at 8:30. The world must be coming to an end.

I HATE crying in front of people. It's so embarassing and I just want them to leave me alone and they're all "omgosh are you okay!!!" Sorry you had a rough day.

The entire day wasn't really rough, just the time after I got the gift. Believe me, with that rum cake we had earlier...it was a VERY good day!

I know what you mean about being embarrassed, too - I cried later at home and I was embarrassed to be crying in front of my mother! Of all people, I know she understands the most because she misses Gram, too, but I still felt really funny about crying in front of her.

I don't think she got my card yet either, and I mailed it 2 weeks ago. Just to show you how slow the mail is this time of year...I mailed 4 other cards a week ago, all of them still in CT. Only one person has received his so far, and he lives in the same town as me.

I'm also still waiting on a CD that was shipped a week ago; I get one every month from this company (it's a subscription service) and they usually only take 2 days. Another order from California was shipped a week ago via USPS Priority and it's not here yet.

I'm out the door again.

News from the woods: we have a hole in our kitchen floor right down to the dirt (about 2 ft down). The 'hole' is around 30" by 20 feet.

Yep, it is major baking/cooking time & we have to deal with the foundation mess.

And it wasn't the original builders 225+ yrs ago. It was the nitwits that installed the furnace 'chimney', cutting into a corner post and hacking up a sleeping timber.

It's a darned good thing we don't use the 2nd story rooms on that side of the house!

Yup, she was working the Christmas party. She had to work the parade at MGM yesterday and then go straight to working the Christmas party. That seemed unfair to me. Trip was fine. I used to hate flying alone but I think I'm used to it.

So...my story today is the amount of work we're getting. And most of it is dated a week or two ago. I actually sort of went off on one of the salespeople as he very cheerfully put 3 direct shipments in the bin (I'd already done 4 by that point - the average is ONE per day!). So now, even if I wanted to go to the Christmas party, I can't because I have too much work!
