So...my mother has a 2nd interview tonight for one of the medical assistant jobs! AND...5 minutes after they called her yesterday, ANOTHER place called her for an interview this coming Thursday! She's kind of upset, because she thinks the first place is going to offer her a job, and she needs to put them off because the 2nd one is right here in town and would be easier for her to get to. I told her to just tell the first place the truth. They usually understand, don't they? I mean, I'd think that when people are looking for a job, they may have a number of places where they're interviewing and can't decide right on the spot, right?

Speaking of cold...it's 30 degrees outside, and because ONE person in here is hot, we have to have the windows open. I'm shivering in my coat.

Otherwise, got yr shopping done?
I have to buy for my 11 year old niece & 16 yr old step niece & 11 yr old step nephew. So far it's bookstore gift certs (yeah, that'll go over well) for the 11 year olds & Philosophy Baby Grace set for the older, plus some great locally made candles & soaps.

I wish they would get that Sirius/XM hassle straightened out, I have wanted to get DH one of those for the past 2 Christmases

I got my older nieces (in their 20's) Bare Minerals eye shadow collections, BBW gift certs and a bunch of stocking stuffers.

Did I mention I buy all my own gifts?
DH even wraps them!

Somehow, every year, I get exactly what I've wanted!

And she's not even 30 years old yet! That's what kills me! I'd understand if maybe she was going through that, but...she isn't! She's just "always boiling," she says. So the rest of us have to suffer.

I'm almost done. Just have to get something for Brett and Danielle; apparently they bought a gift for me. But Mum is done - I count the concert tickets, and I also got her Steve Martin's book and the new Russell Watson CD. I really can't afford anything else. And I already know she's making me an afghan; I picked out the yarn.

So...Ma got the job. She took it and she starts Monday.

However, she was crying, too. She's scared...it's such a huge change; she says she really wants to stay home. Unfortunately...she just can't. She has to work.
