I watched many episodes of Desperate Housewives. I signed off here after my last post though because I didn't think anyone was around.

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday. I have an absurd amount of work to catch up on. Like the amount that I am going to have to actually sit down at my desk and WORK. That rarely happens.

That old hillbilly dude is Fred Ziffle, the owner/father of Arnold Ziffle, from the TV show Green Acres (which was on CBS from 1965 to 1971). I think I like it because the expression on his face is the same expression I have when I read many of the posts on the DIS.

Thank you! I can't get over how big the room is...in my apartment, I had to walk sideways around the bed. Now I feel like I need to put something else in this room because there's so much space!

Hey Nutters, It's going to be a long night here in Southern California

If you have seen the National news tonight you know that Southern California is on Fire.

They are currently reporting 12 Major fires burning in Southern California covering thousands of acres being fanned by the Santa Ana Winds conditions.

They stretch from Malibu to the North down to San Diego in the South.

They are reporting that some lives have been lost and numerous buildings have been destroyed and damaged.

Numerous communities are under Mandatory Evacuation notice

The air is thick with the smell of smoke and ashes every where.

We live in Anaheim, so we are safe,

My oldest is down in Del Mar (San Diego area) and she said that it is miserable there,

My BIL AND SIL live in the Canyon Country area and may have to evacuate, they can see the flames from their home.

OMGosh! No, I have NOT seen the news.

That's horrible I'll be praying for those families who have lost loved ones.

I'm very happy to hear that you guys are safe but scared for your BIL and SIL.

Where will they evacuate to? Will they go and stay with you guys?

Actually, he said it with a smile, so I think he meant it jokingly. He's into the whole skull thing as well, so I took it as a compliment. Plus I rather like cemeteries - especially the really old ones with sculpture gravestones. One of the photos on the wall is one that I took in a cemetery here in Enfield.

Anyway, I just heard that I almost didn't have a job to come to this morning...someone left an empty glass coffee pot on the burner and left the burner on all weekend. Surprisingly, the pot was only burned but not shattered or even cracked. Still, with no one here for 2 days, this place probably could have burned down.

Good Morning Nutters

From a very Smokey, Warm, Windy Southern California

Things didn't change much over night, I think more fires have popped up but we are no where near any danger here.

I think my SIL/BIL are going to be fine the fire is close about a mile away, but they are in a very accessible area and the fire fighters are doing the best they can to save structures.

Keep think all those good thoughts for the people being effected by this disaster.
