Want to take up a collection to buy Keith an mp3 player with video capabilities?

I'm pleading the 5th on how I know this... :rolleyes1

You don't have to plead the 5th Liz. We all know that Roberto corrupted poor little innocent you. That Rob - he is soooooo offensive. :rolleyes1

And to think, I was just your hero on "another thread".

I'll have you know that the "dirtiest videos" I have on mine are Shakira's "Whenever, Wherever" and Trace Adkins's "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk". So there...

Hi everyone! Happy Monday.
:confused3

Back at you,
Beautiful day here in Southern Cal 70's, Partly Cloudy with a slight breeze

Hope everyone had a great weekend

At night, it's been down to the 30 degrees--time to get out the sheets & cover the tomatoes!
The hostas haven't pooped out, so it's still lovely!

...

While I'm thinking of it...has anyone else read Lolita? I'm actually a bit disturbed by this book - and it takes a lot to disturb me.
I read it many years ago. and yes, I remember it being bizaarrrree .
Okay, I know it's supposed to be a great novel, but I recall, at the time, I thought it was a bit of a twisted potboiler~

...
My weekend was good. Probably doesn't sound too impressive to a plumber's wife but I replaced a garbage disposal unit for the first time in my life and did it all by myself in about an hour so I felt pretty good about that. Also, got the yard verticutted, aerated, overseeded, and fertilized.
...

Good job, Rob! :cheer2:
DH had to replace the well pump this week. He was so proud of himself for getting it done in a little under an hour,
See, sometimes men are verrry useful!
:goodvibes
Carp! (thanks, E!) and we all though Humbert Humbert was warped! Rob! LEAVE THE LAWN ALONE!

I've noticed that LBelle has been offensively absent from both the Chatters and the Nuts. Kudos to whoever finally managed to scare her off. :woohoo:

Hey Cheryl! Did you see my note that we will be at BCV from 10/20-10/25? Then we move to VWL.
Yes, where is Lisa???
Has anyone checked Keith's car roof???
:confused3
Please leave BCV somewhat intact, Wenches & Hags! DH & I are headed there sometime in Jan or Feb & would like to get a room that doesn't smell like pickles, SPAM or vomit!

Where the heck is everyone?? :confused3

Don't you know lunch breaks are for DISIng?
As I drink my morning coffee:surfweb:
I have been working on the next event.
We are competing against a good few weeks of 'big' town events :headache:
Everyone who volunteers is pooped out with baking, hosting, performing.
Our event was scheduled 1 year ago (actually it is the same weekend every year for years), but this year it ends up smack in the middle of the cluster.

Maybe Cheryl will let me borrow some curvaceous girlies to insure us a record breaking attendance!

One of the best (and highest grossing) events here abouts was when the firemen hosted 'Stomp the Yankees'. For a $10 donation you could stomp all over a Yankees tee shirt :rotfl:

I'm here but not on lunch break. We're not allowed to stay at our desks for lunch. If you've clocked out for lunch, you MUST go to the breakroom or parking lot or leave the grounds. Scuttlebutt is that people were abusing the "it's-okay-to-eat-at-your-desk" rule - claiming that they were working through lunch, but surfing the 'net instead, while not clocking out.
:headache:

What about the restroom?
Can you spend the hour in the lavs?

Nope. But there is cable TV and a sofa. Back when I didn't care so much about getting overtime, if no one was up there, I'd put on Star Trek The Next Generation and stretch out on the sofa for the hour.

The other day, one of the guys from the service department was lying on the sofa, snoring away! And it was LOUD.

:scared:

DH snores like a freight train, too.
That & his body temp has got to be at least 10 degrees higher than normal.

I tolerate the snoring much better in the winter:laughing:

...
Did I tell you we had a tornado here Sunday? Kind of strange, came across Ft. Myers Beach, just missed us and then onto Cape Coral about 5 miles from here. Wiped out 18 homes and a Walmart.
I'm ready for cooler weather!

TG you didn't get hit Cheryl! Wow! that was close!
Do people have basements in FL? Were there any people hurt?

On the other hand...
One Walmart down, only 5,699 more to go...

Well, I think I must be returning to the tasks at hand

Maybe I'll wander off to the TRs for a bit

Better set the timer!

Oh, please...like I said before, I was corrupt in the womb. Rob's just trying to get me to tempt fate - and the mods - and post something points-worthy.

Too funny:rotfl2: I think you should check the bumper too.

We are classy wenches and hags, no vomiting is allowed. But, I'll try and leave some pickles and Spam for you. No promises.

Jean, business breeds businesss! You will do great!

Just let me know, I'll send my leftovers ;)

No major injuries, which is amazing. No basements here. You are supposed to go into the interior of your house, or a bath tub, or door frame.

I have a good response to this, but I might offend some people.

Be careful over there, we wouldn't want you to blow away,

I used to live in Texas and dealt with a few Tornado's there and then while in Florida we lived through Hurricane Charlie all I can say is I'll take Earthquakes any day of the week.

I once had a coworker hunt me down in the parking lot to ask me a question about an order! I was like, um, hello...I'm at lunch!

It's amazing isn't it.

How about this,
I was on vacation in San Diego with my family walking around on the USS Midway museum and my cell phone rings, not thinking to check caller ID I answer, it's the Capitan of the Air Detail and he wants to discuss the status of a helicopter I 'm buying for them...uh Cap I'm on vacation with my family in San Diego can this wait..

He says "Hope you're having a good time...now when is the finally inspection of the Helicopter? :headache:

You'd think after all this time, I could tell a smart*** post from a real one.
It's really just a matter of learning to distinguish a Blue post from a PJ post. I won't say who is the smart butt though. :rolleyes1

Don't you know lunch breaks are for DISIng?
As I drink my morning coffee:surfweb:
No, lunch breaks are clearly the time for all the mothers to come in and want to talk with the teachers about issues their children are having. Make an appointment for a conference, for goodness sakes!

I am really stressing out about a bully situation right now. I just can't get it off my mind. It's consuming way too much of my time. But I have to find the answer.

Hi Liz, Jean, Goofster, Squiddy etc. :wave2:

I'm off to babysit. Later!

On Sunday, May 4, 2003, a tornado destroyed the homes across the street from my parents' home but left theirs unharmed. The same tornado destroyed a home of my friend about a mile away from my parents, as well as the ball diamonds (pictured below) my kids play ball on (sometimes) about three miles away from my parents' home.

The poles on the ground that are larger in diameter were the field light poles and what looks like two yellow poles running parallel to each other in the upper right quadrant of the picture used to be a foul pole.

Not much to go on here...

If you are being bullied, call the Police.

If you are being the bully, stop it.

If one of the kiddos in your class is being bullied by another, send said bully to the principal's office. He/she can join my DS6 there -- my DS6 is NOT a bully, however (just to clarify).

Welcome Home

Only a couple of hours to go here

A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out during a particularly icy winter. They planned to stay at the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years before. Because of their hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules. So, the husband left Minneapolis and flew to Florida on Friday, and his wife was flying down the following day.

The husband checked into the hotel, and unlike years ago, there was a computer in his room, and he decided to send an e-mail to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her e-mail address, and without noticing his error, sent the e-mail to the wrong address.

Meanwhile somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral. He was a Minister who was called home to glory after suffering a heart attack. The widow decided to check her e-mail, expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she screamed and then fainted.

The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and then glanced up and saw the computer screen which read:

To: My Loving Wife

Date: Friday, April 13, 2007
Subject: I have Arrived!

Dearest Love:

I know you are surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now, and you are allowed to send email to your loved ones. I have just arrived and have been checked in. I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow, and look forward to seeing you then. Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was.

P.S. Sure is freaking hot down here!

Oh, yes, I forgot about English. English and spelling I pretty much have from First Grade through Graduation. And for good reason -- you do NOT want to learn spelling from my DW. :scared:

I'm taking this as through college graduation.
Rob, PJ's, Word of the Day needs some attention! :teacher:

Oh, please...like I said before, I was corrupt in the womb. Rob's just trying to get me to tempt fate - and the mods - and post something points-worthy.

Liz, Simon LeBon called, he wants you to post nakey pics of him!

be sure to pm me just before you post 'em!

What Rob said.
Does your school have a psychologist on staff?
If the bullying is physical, Is it a law in your state that you must report shoving, punching..any physical contact?
I would guess sooner, rather than later, the Mom of the student being bullied may coom in for a conference, most likely unscheduled~

Bite me!

Ah, hurricane Charlie was a doozy! We got hit pretty bad down here with that one. I actually thought we were going to die. Our house was shaking. We were lucky to have only minor damage. No power for 11 days and it was 95 degreees! As soon as they moved the trees from the road, I was outta here! DH had to stay because our cobnvention center is a shelter.
I have some great pix from that one.
This is when the storm calmed down enough for me to get out near a window:

This is the chimney that blew off my neighbor's house:

Here is the tree on the side of my house that came up:

And, here is some ofthe damage to our house, we basically had this happen all around the house:

Pretty, huh?
