Thanks Heidi! I'm looking forward to it. Everything seems "more together" at the stadium and it will be a full game. It is really exciting to be where there is so much energy.
I know I will be beat at the end, but it's a good kind of tired.

Good night!!

Try and stop by if you're not too beat and tell us all about it!

Night & Sleep Well :goodvibes

Ahwwwwww.... Sorry I missed you all!

Watch out!! I'll be back.... when you least expect it!

Now...dare I ask what haggis is?

Rella and Jave...you ran away too fast! The par-tay starts late around these parts.
Haggis
Recipe courtesy Alton Brown
1 sheep stomach
1 sheep liver
1 sheep heart
1 sheep tongue
1/2 pound suet, minced
3 medium onions, minced
1/2 pound dry oats, toasted
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon dried ground herbs

Rinse the stomach thoroughly and soak overnight in cold salted water.

Rinse the liver, heart, and tongue. In a large pot of boiling, salted water, cook these parts over medium heat for 2 hours. Remove and mince. Remove any gristle or skin and discard.

In a large bowl, combine the minced liver, heart, tongue, suet, onions, and toasted oats. Season with salt, pepper, and dried herbs. Moisten with some of the cooking water so the mixture binds. Remove the stomach from the cold salted water and fill 2/3 with the mixture. Sew or tie the stomach closed. Use a turning fork to pierce the stomach several times. This will prevent the haggis from bursting.

In a large pot of boiling water, gently place the filled stomach, being careful not to splash. Cook over high heat for 3 hours.

mmmm...good!

"Get your haggis, right here! Chopped heart and lungs boiled in a wee sheep's stomach! Tastes as good as it sounds. Good for what ails ya!"

Haggis: Before and After

"A haggis is a small four-legged Scottish Highland creature, which has the limbs on one side shorter than the other side. This means that it is well adapted to run around the hills at a steady altitude, without either ascending or descending. However a haggis can easily be caught by running around the hill in the opposite direction."

What the...??? I'm absent for ONE weekend because I have things to do, and we start picking on the Scottish? Bite my bagpipes...

BLUE: sorry I missed ya last night. We need to catch up!

JEAN: why? Just why.

CHERYL: How was the big game?

LIZ: All packed up and ready to go?

Hi, Jave. :wave2:

I'm finishing up some lesson plans. Actually right now I'm making sheep out of cotton balls to go with a story I'm going to tell tomorrow. Being a teacher is fun, I mean, in what other career to you get to make cotton ball sheep?

Did everyone have a good weekend?

Do his bagpipes look bitable?

Get a load of his sporran! :earseek:

Because the parts were just lyin' around 'n' stuff!
Ahhh!
Whilst laboring through the clean cellar project last week, I happened upon Patrick's wood shavings sheep. BWAAAAAAHHHH!

Sorry to make you relive that traumatic moment through my cotton ball sheep, Jean.

I need a new hot glue gun. This one is really on it's last leg. If anyone was wondering what to get me for Christmas, that would be a good option.

Whew! I thought I was pretty well-read, but I had to look this one up! Wasn't sure what you were referring to but I'm glad it was what it was and not what it could have been:scared1: (if that makes sense).

Put a Swivel Sweeper on your list too. I'm lovin' mine.

I love crafty things!
Do you have one with the different nibs/tips? Those are sooo cool!
Now that you will be teaching you are gonna need an array of glue guns, sparkles, brads...

I have an eye for sporrans :rolleyes1
There are a few Highlands reenactment groups around here, so I am vaguely familiar with the stuff.
Of course, being married, I cannot fully research to the extent I would like. I do know if you should happen to tug at this guy's kilt, you have a decent chance of finding out if he's gone Scots or not.
Of course, such an experiment would only be for the purposes of academic research, and not for childish titillation.
Ahem..yes, not at all for titillation.
:teeth:

Does this 'sweeper' use many 'D' or 'C' batteries?

I have a lame glue gun right now. And it's a few years old. Which is why I need a new one. I LOVE crafts and craft supplies. However, I should never ever be allowed to buy another craft supply. I have bins and bins of paper, glitter, different scissors, gems, glue, stickers, paint, everything. I am forever working on some craft but the amount of supplies I own is absurd.

This is why I won't get into scrapbooking:laughing:

When I did Jr Historical Society, that stuff did come in handy, though!
You know how much sparklies & plastic gems were adored by our ancestors! :rotfl:

Gee, Jave posts a hairy bagpiper & takes off, I mean...

It really is convenient to have it all, it's just excessive. Like tonight, when I was doing this project I needed cotton balls and googly eyes and paint and small ceramic tiles and I didn't have to go to the store and get any of it!

Gee, Jave posts a hairy bagpiper & takes off, I mean...
I know, wassup with that?

LESSON PLANS ARE OFFICIALLY READY!!!! Now I can relax.

Wow! this thing is sloooowwwwwwww...

DISboards fave bagpiper & kilted lads

speaking of kilts:
Patrick called to say we need to replace my DSis' ceiling fan blades.
It seems he was 'practicing' with his 16th century repro sword & hacked a fan blade clean off :rolleyes1

Sheesh! Boys!
