But she has a kid. She doesn't get to just do that. I think I'm going to go stand in the shower and scream. Or maybe cry. Whichever strikes me.

Here's the current plan:

My best friend Eren is leaving work to go be with my cousin and try to calm her down. It's really best, her dad's a bum and Eren knows my cousin very well, we're all 3 very close, so she'll be able to help her.

As soon as Eren gets there she is going to find an address book or contact numbers of all my aunt's friends and we're going to call all of them.

My aunt would normally get home from work at 6pm. In a perfect world she just skipped work and she'll be home at the regular time. If she's not...we call the police.

I just hate that I'm here and not there with my cousin. Poor thing. I really just don't know why this had to happen.

I don't know if you guys knew or not, but my father and I stopped speaking to each other when I was 14, back in 1988. Just giving you the background, so you know why I'm not sad or affected by any of what's to follow. Some years ago, I checked the Social Security Death Index to find that my father's mother died in 2001. I started checking it regularly, to see about my father's father. To my shock, the day before my birthday 2 years ago, I found out my father had died...

Deaths come in threes, right? So who's next? ...

I awoke to a very loud knocking at my door this morning and I'd like to add that it was very early.

DD got there before I even had the chance to get out of bed. It was my neighbour and she sounded pretty frantic and told DD to go get me. DD is well trained and told her that I was still sleeping

My neighbour said it didn't matter and to go get me because there was a fire at the side of our house (by this time I was halfway to the door)

Turns out, the extension cord running to our pool pump had caught fire along the side of the house but the fire was out when I got there!!!

The part where the cord was burned, has black electrical tape wrapped around. Looks like one of DH's patch work jobs

He's going to hear it from me when he gets home

Okay, so, as Cheryl reported for me (thanks) everyone's alive. Yesterday was officially the day from hell though. I can't even tell you guys the scenarios that were running through my head. I feel like I must have run a marathon yesterday, I'm just so completely drained and exhausted. The important thing is that everyone is okay and we're all going to stand behind my aunt and she's going to be okay. I am still just so confused feeling. I'm still upset, panicked, and now, sort of mad at her for her irresponsibility. I keep reminding myself, she's alive, that's what matters. Have to keep reminding myself. Thanks for all the prayers.
