Mixed Nuts Part 2

Oh, Rob! (yes, I'm channeling Mary Tyler Moore...)

Trust me, it was the shirt. Two reasons...A) It's a very loose shirt, so it doesn't show the girls to their advantage, and B) The third time I caught him staring, he said, "You know, I really like that shirt."

I debated on wearing my Mexican Dia de los Muertos skull t-shirt, which is a bit on the tight side, but I thought the guitar shirt would get his attention. Which it obviously did.

Blue - I don't feel very strong. My mother isn't crying at all. Maybe it's because she's there 24/7 and she's tired. Maybe she cries when I'm not around. But it's been almost 7 months...I do feel like I've come to terms with it, even if I am crying. I think it's just a normal response, seeing the change.

I don't think I'm getting a new car until much later this year, maybe even the beginning of next year. I can't afford one yet. Yep, my birthday is a week away; I'll be 33.

I hope you're right about the friend thing. She really was a sweetheart, too. Maybe he brought her to check me out? :p And I'm getting there with the pneumonia. Just wish I could shake it like I used to shake illnesses!

Okay..I should have been more specific. I meant to say, did you just eat the bacon bits by themselves? Ew.

I had a horrible night at work tonight. Not getting into it on here but I really don't want to go in tomorrow.
Sometimes (heck, sometimes I do that now, here at home with the bottle of Bac-Os :upsidedow ), sometimes with the relish, and often with the ice water chaser.

Awwww Blue. That's too bad. Hopefully you'll get a good night's sleep and tomorrow will look better to you.

Oh, one more thing that was kind of funny...he looked in my fridge at one point, and said, "Hey, looks like mine...except for the Jello pudding..."

I have 3 kinds of beer and 3 different 6-packs of Jello pudding in my fridge. That's all.

Crying does not make you less strong. The fact that you have come to terms with it and accepted it and wish for peace with your grandmother is what makes you strong IMO.

I'm sure your mother is dealing with it in her own way. We're all different when it comes to grieving.

HEY!!! I answered your question. Just forgot to say Hi!

No forgetting anymore or I'll have to take away your "in charge of thread" status when I'm away :rotfl2:

I had to PM my comments on this to you two (and they really weren't even that bad! :headache: ).

Ok, Liz and Blue and anyone else who might be sneaking in here and/or lurking...
I really need to head off to bed now. Chat with you "ladies" tomorrow hopefully.

No they weren't :sad2:

Sleep well Robster

Hey!

Um, you know, on second thought, I'll skip it...

Well, my eyes are burning...I think I might head off to bed now. I'm still getting a little thrill from thinking about Michael singing to me.

*smiles*

Night Liz! Sleep well too and sweeeeeeeet dreams :teeth:

Hey, with your AP or your employee ID (whichever you used), there's no issue with hanging out in the parks because that is no expense for you (other than the gas to get there). When I was 13 and 14 (and maybe 12 too), I used to use my season pass to go to our local amusement park about 3 or 4 days a week in the summers and hardly spent any money. We would take 1 or 2 dollars for pinball and video games (back then games were only a quarter each or sometimes 2 plays for a quarter) and that was it. To survive the usual 4-hour visits, my friends and I would get free ice water and free relish packets from the concession stands or, for special occasions, free bacon bit packets from the deli at the front of the park.

I have an AP and an employee ID now...nothing can keep me out at this point! :woohoo: Any why bacon bits? Couldn't your mom have packed you a sandwich?

Okay...bad news first. Today was a REALLY bad day with my grandmother. She's totally out of it now. My mother asked me how long I thought it would be, and at that moment, my first thought was "hours." She's in and out now, sometimes talking gibberish, sometimes she seems lucid. I held her hand for a while and she kept saying "goodbye." At one point she said, "Bill, why are you here?" (Bill was my grandfather). A couple of times, she'd close her eyes, and I whispered to her, "Let go," "Don't fight it," "If someone is here for you, go with them," etc. I cried a lot. But then, while I was standing there, a couple of times she completely relaxed and I wondered, is this it? Then she'd start breathing again. I am seeing a huge change...I'll probably have to eat my words, but I feel like it's going to be a week or two at most, if not mere days.
   I know how hard it is to lose a grandparent, hang in there. I hope you could get some sleep last night.

The good news...my new friends just left, and OMG...Michael... I don't think I posted about finding his Yahoo Personals profile, noting that we have a lot in common (according to it), so I emailed him and told him just that. Well, he paid A LOT of attention to me tonight. We're both really into guitars, so I purposely wore my Fender Stratocaster t-shirt tonight - which had him staring at my chest all night; not quite what I was going for, but hey, don't look a gift horse in the mouth, right? :p Anyway, at one point we got into how I'm not really too girlie, and he said, "Embrace your femininity." I said, "Yeah, I really don't have it in me," and he said, "Well, that's okay, cause you've got a lot of cool [4-letter euphemism for stuff] here." Later, he and I ended up upstairs - alone - because I mentioned that I couldn't tune my guitar properly. He had it tuned in 2 minutes flat and proceeded to play and sing "Can't You See" to me. Yeah, there were 6 other people downstairs, yet here we were, upstairs while he's playing my guitar and singing to me. He left when everyone else did, but now I've got my fingers crossed a little more. Oh, and he also seemed very unhappy when I said I couldn't go on the weekend trip to Salem next week. Darn it. But it's still good news!
:woohoo: :dance3: :yay: :cool1: Excellent news!! I told you the "guest" wasn't anything to worry about! I did not know you played the guitar...fun. How long have you been playing?

Ugh...you may have. I don't always read back because you know that PJ..she gets on here and posts up a storm :rotfl2:
 You know, you people are always saying things of this nature but would you really rather I just sit here silently and watch. Because when I've done that you've always told me to stop being so quiet. Can't have it both ways Bluester!

Sheesh.

Some PEOPLE

It's okay. I'm getting used to being ignored :sad2:
Okay, just what was going on here last night with the ignoring?

No forgetting anymore or I'll have to take away your "in charge of thread" status when I'm away :rotfl2:

Okay, MSN tonight for sure, Missy.

I would like to hear more about this "fine job" that he does. Because I've clearly missed it in the past.

Guess everyone's off being religious this Sunday morning. Or more likely they're probably all sleeping! :rotfl: Not that you don't all seem like the religious sort....

Yes! and I may have more to add since I'm back to work again tonight :headache:

I haven't been up long. Kids are gone and DH got called in to fix a leak so thought I'd DIS for a bit. How are you this morning?

Yes, but am I sure I want to hear the answer?

Not too bad. Took sister to work at 7:30 so I could have the car so I wouldn't be trapped here all day because I think that's what really got me so down yesterday. I think I'm going to head to the pool for now. I won't last that long because I sunburn so easily.

Random side note, but I feel like I need to do role call around here. Starting with Jean, Michele, GoDaddy, and Lisa. Then moving on to Pixie and Nichole. Where's everyone been?

That was a good idea! I'm glad to see you're feeling better today :)

As for the others - they have LIVES :rotfl:

But because I know they may read back:

Hello fellow nutters

Now you're reminding me that I have no life because I have NO friends here. Not one!! Gosh, Blue, way to get me down again! I better head to the pool before you really depress me. Just kidding. Talk to you tonight.
