For some reason, I laughed and laughed at this, out loud even. Could be the late hour. I think it was about 3 or 4 times but that movie covers a lot of years -- 40 or so -- so there could have been 40 of them. The turkey, or more accurately, the waiting (or not) to cut it was a symbol of respect (or not) for the older brother, Uncle Gabriel. Trivial fact: The actor who played Uncle Gabriel, Lou Jacobi, was born in Toronto and is in Canada's Walk of Fame (which must be about a half-block long and surely has LBelle in it). He also plays the plant store (floral store?) owner in Arthur.

Yet everytime you turned around it was Thanksgiving and someone was griping about the ben turkey. I mean, come on, dude, it's just a dead bird, get over it.
