Ok, I was actually out doing some minor yardwork and gathering all the trash to the curb. I thought if I waited until 11:00, it would be cooler outside but it didn't seem to be. My garage has a thermometer in it that reads 94 degrees and it felt cooler to me than the outside!

Tomorrow is our bimonthly heavy trash pickup day and our weekly recyclable day and our weekly trash pickup day -- my driveway looks like Fred Sanford's salvage yard!

So I had my hair done last night. You know, the burgundy. I also had my eyebrows dyed, as usual. Well, it's so hot here that I'm sweating...through my eyebrows...it looks like I'm bleeding! The excess dye is actually mingling with my sweat! Good thing it's not getting in my eyes.

Quick drive-by posting. Busy, busy - in a good way.

Work is busy. I have three projects to get out of the way by the end of this week, as I'll have a bigger one starting next week. We hear about all of the upcoming state work on August 16, so I anticipate yet another couple to start immediately after that date for us. Unfortunately for us, all of our students will go back to their school schedules instead of working full-time like they've been doing for summertime.

Kids started back to school on Monday. We're still getting back into the swing of things with that. We had a hamster emergency Monday night. My daughter's hamster (Angel) had developed some sores on its rump and they got infected (it had these sores ever since we had it, she'd just keep nibbling at it). So I did the "Ol' Yeller" thing and took it out back and put it out of its misery. I used a tiny gun. Just kidding. We have a forested piece of land nearby and I let it loose in there. We went hamster shopping last night (well, KAMommy and the kids did while I mowed) - we have a little black hamster named Blackberry now. My son's hamster, Darth Hammy, is doing just fine - gotten fat and sassy - much bigger than Berry. They're in separate cages right now but we'll put them in together in about a week. Right now they just stare at each other through the wire...

It's hot here too - 95 at 10:30 last night. I mowed part of the yard yesterday and will do the rest of it tonight. I hate mowing. I'm gonna just get my whole yard Astroturfed.

My family met up with E, her hubby, and PJ at Chef Mickey while we were in the World. I'm sure they've filled you in in the meantime (don't know if there are pics as I haven't read back any). I'll just say from my end that they're at least as "normal" as I am...

I was beyond tired, and we all know that I get a little loopy when tired.
