I've heard alot of talk about misty mates. I checked their website, and the were like over $20 each. Anyone know where I can get a cheaper version? Also, they had those bandanas that you where around your neck which were like $40 for a pack of four. Does anyone know if those are any good? Thanks!

I got my misty mates off of ebay, but try google and check some of the sites that carry them. You should be able to find them cheaper. Don't forget to check shipping charges and figure that into the price. You can get the cooling bandanas from Wal-Mart for $2.88 each. The are usually in sporting goods with the ankle & wrist supports. Or, if you are crafty you can make them yourself. :cool1:

Thanks for your help! :goodvibes

I got my Misty Mate at Walmart for $13. We tested it out at home and it works great. Forget WDW we are stoked to use it for our family walks in the summer heat here. :) OK so it'll be nice at WDW in July too. ;)

I went last August and brought everything that has been mentioned here for the heat and ended up using only two things; the Misty Mate and the filtered bottle for water.

I got my Misty mate on ebay as well. But I later saw them at BJ's in a two pack I believe...for the same price I paid on ebay.

I did not use the misty fan I brought and bought at Walmart. It didn't work well. I didn't use the cooling neckties either that I brought.

What I did do was grab a handcloth from my resort room each day and we'd run in under cold water. My 5 year old LOVED this and it's a quick way to cool off. She'd put it on her head, face and neck!

Good luck!

We did not like to use the neck ties things either. We carried a soft sided cooler with bottled water in it and some ice. We each had 2 bandanas, we would leave one in the cooler, and wear the other. That worked great for us.
