I am wondering about mister fans ifor our April trip.
Are they something good to have, or just something extra to carry and lose? (We don't have a stroller)

Is it worth it to get one at the park - so it is also a souvenir? Are they cute? How expensive?

If too $$, where can I get one before we leave? I tried Walmart...but couldn't find them.

TIA!

We never had them before and couldn't care less. BUT this trip will be with our DD 2 1/2 and we will have a stroller so i thought it might be nice to have one to attach or for her to hold on to... just in case. If we didn't have the stroller i wouldn't get one to be honest. I wouldn't want something extra to hold on to.
I hate the heat and in the past I haven't been too overwhelmed with it in April. Who knows what this year will bring......

I've been looking for them and so far I've been being told they aren't out yet. I've tried at Walmart/Target/ Dollar store/Dollare General.
I was told to try BJ's.

I saw some mister fans at our local Walmart recently. They were in the area with the regular plug-in/stand fans but placement could vary by store. In the past, I've also seen them in the seasonal area with the summer stuff.

I just bought them at Wal-Mart two days ago. They were on an end cap kinda between the hardware/automotive area. They were either $6 or $8, much less than Disney!

We bought them at Walmart for our May 07 trip and boy did they come in handy!!! It was really hot & humid a couple days. The ones we bought were on an end cap near the paint/hardware dept. and they have a small carabiner attached and the kids loved carrying them attached to them! They are totally plastic and are not bigger than your hand but they do actually work!! My kids have taken them anytime we've gone on any trip anywhere since! HTH. :goodvibes

We use these really small mister fans and they work incredibly well!! My DH is always warm but gets relief from these, even though they are small. We clip them to our backpack strap and my messenger bag strap so they are readily available but because they are small, they don't get in the way.

Hey guys on the same site campmor. com, there are fans that are clip fans that are flexible. They arent mister fans, but they have foam blades. Which worked great for our little ones in their stroller. They do take batteries, but thats small IMO, to carry. People all over were asking us where we got ours. They dont last forever, like I think the whole 9 days, then they were trashed. But we clipped ours onto the sunshade and left it on the whole time. My 8month old was very very thankful.

Just thought I would let ya in on my little tip.:thumbsup2

I found them this year at Walmart too for $3.00 in the fan/hardware section.

We use them and love them. Just be sure to put a piece of tape on the back over the battery door- they don't stay on well and tend to get lost.

The manual pump 'mini misters' that aren't a fan but just do the fine mist are out at BJs right now. I just saw them over the weekend in my local BJs. I bought them for our trip last year and thought they were great. The mist is really nice and doesn't soak you. We also use them on our boat. :)

I saw them for a set of 3 for $15 I think.

These look good...do they hold enough water though? Or are you filling it up every few hours? How big is it? It looks tiny.

It's not very big and yes, we do refill it at water fountains, but only once or twice a day depending on how much we use them. It's actually nice to have a reason to stop, take a few minutes to relax and people-watch while we refill them. Here are the box dimensions according to one website

Length: 3.1
Width: 1.08
Height: 6.7
Weight: 0.25
