With all these sort of threads around here about people wondering what their neighbors are up to and making assumptions about people, I'm just wondering if anyone here has been the victim of a mistaken assumption.

For me, the one that always makes me giggle occurred during my senior year of college. I lived in a single room on campus, and took mostly chemistry classes, so I kept to myself a lot, or I was in the library. I tended to meet up with people in the student center or chemistry building, simply because a little single room is not exactly conducive to having company over. Anyways, towards the end of the year, the chem department always holds a banquet in honor of the graduating seniors, and the seniors get to roast the professors. I ended up doing most of the editing for the roast because I had some experience in video/photo editing. I should also mention my major was mostly guys.

Well, in one week, I had about 5 different guys coming to my room at some random hours. One night, it was a friend of mine who came over to study for our biochem exam. We met in my room because all the study rooms in the library were taken, and he lived off campus. He ended up leaving around 3 am, but all we did was study. The next day, another one of the guys in my major came by to help me sort out the music for the roast, only he came over around 10 pm because he worked on an ambulance and came over after his shift. The day after that, my best friend's boyfriend (now husband) came over for some Chinese food (I wanted to order, but wouldn't meet the minimum delivery on my own, so he also decided to order some Chinese). Next day, a different guy from my major came over to help me with the roast. The day after, another guy comes by to drop off some photos fro teh roast and ends up staying to watch Grey's Anatomy.

Well, the next day, my neighbors decided to stage an intervention of sorts. They pretty much cornered me and said they were concerned about all the men coming to my room lately. They had never seen me with so much male company over before, and they were worried that maybe I was concerned that since I was graduating college soon, I was worried I couldn't have any more "fun" anymore, but they assured me that wasn't the case. I just looked at them, and said "I prefer to keep my private life private, thank you very much." Well, imagine my suprise when move out day comes along, and one of the males from my major (the one I studied with until 3 am) comes by to help me move out (actually, he carried everything, and I carried the car keys :rotfl: ) and my next door neighbor decides to go up to him and say "Did you know she's had 5 different guys coming here at all hours and staying until late? I just thought that you should know". :dance3: We looked at each other and just burst out laughing.
