Hi there

I just got two charges on our visa from Disney Dining. After following up, it turns out they made a res for us on Jan1 at H&V, and Jan3 for Akershus

Problem is, those reservations were supposed to be for FEB 1 and 3rd. It was their mistake, but now at this date, Akershus is booked out for supper. This was going to be a 5th birthday dinner for our daughter, after her BBB appointment....:worried:

We were able to get a lunch reservation....at 2 pm. But I see the lunch menu is different than dinner.

I am more than a bit disappointed, but at this point.....any comments on the lunch here?

Is there anything I can/should do about this?

Thanks for your advice

We always eat our big meal at lunch, we pay out-of-pocket and lunch is cheaper. We ate lunch there once and it was fine, you might find a 5 year old is too excited to each lunch anyway. As long as you get a refund for the difference. Every kid is different, but your daughter will probably be excited to see all the Princesses, she won't care if it's at 2 or6. I hope anyway!

We love Akershus and we always go for lunch. At 2 pm you'll probably have less waiting too :)

Now if you can change your BBB appointment to the am, that means she gets to be a princess ALL DAY. Honestly your 5 yo will probably have a lot more energy at lunch time than dinner -- it's such a long day for the little ones.

I'm really sorry that happened to you! BUT, we had lunch at Akershus last year (our daughter was 4 and boys were 6 and 3) and we all absolutely loved it! I don't think the menu is much different so if you can't get the dinner, please don't worry. Lunch was great, both include the fabulous cold bar spread, and the character interaction was wonderful! My daughter loved it.

Thanks all!

We were just so disappointed when we found out, but I'm glad to hear these comments, and figure that it'll all be okay:yay:

We always do lunch there. It is cheaper, so even if you are on the DDP, you will have a smaller amount to tip on.

She may have more energy at lunch, anyway. Like the pp poster said, she won't even know the difference!

Keep checking, though, if you still want dinner. I had been stalking an Ohana reservation because my brother has decided to join us. I FINALLY got a 6:50 reservation for 7 people just this saturday. I have been looking many times a day for 2 weeks!!! It pays to be persistent!

Akershus is not a prepaid reservation, so the OP wouldn't need anything refunded except the no-show charge they were assessed for the erroneous January reservation.

It's basically the same meal except for some minor menu differences at dinner. The princesses will be the same.

keep trying especially a couple days before
because of the no-show charge, there will be last minute cancellations
